thx for sharing aeronut. Anyone else happened to have aSLR at hand?
I’m really no expert, and critisism is not what i want to bring. Feedback sounds nicer:)
I use canon 450D with an old analogue canon 80-200 telelens, I had a crack with it at just one airshow so far at duxford last year.
I use a medium setting for filesize and do all my editing these days with windows live photogallery.Simple and enough for me to get a decent enhancement.
Hi Kev
Wonderful pics! must have been a special event to attend..
I like the first rolling Spit shot and that last one of the Mustang most. Well balanced pictures!
In general I can appreciate the colour enhancements you seem to do, if i am not mistaken, though you might consider to hold back on it just a little more than you did. That is just my personal taste, since i am no expert at all.
Same is for my tatse of contrast, a little less contrast or brightness, might reveal that much more on the darker sections in your compositions without the pic going flat or bland.
again, great shots!
Bert
lovely pics…must visit there sometime soon !!
Merry xmas…regards baz
They’ll have a brewster buffalo replica out in spring..
There most certainly are shock waves on both pipes.
The flame colour does indicate a different temperature of the top engine. My guess would be that the top engine has a higher jetpipe temp as the flame is whiter. Could be be a difference in turbine rpm or turbine pressure as result of different engine settings. I guess we need a expert on this one.. I’m sure there’s a Frightning engine buff around here somewhere:)
Great pics!
In the heritage flyby, the Raptor looks like a F15 model after someone sat on it 😀
ouaaaaaaaaaaaaa:)
I received a prompt and very kind reply from the museum:
We are just a few km from Malpensa Airport (by car exit between Terminal 2 and terminal 1 Somma Lombardo – Case Nuove) and a pedestrian ramp is planned for 2010 directly from terminal 1 (railway station).
At the moment we open a preview of the future museum (a covered area of 2800 mq is available)
with the first plane fliyng in Malpensa (The Caproni Ca.01 the unique and original one in
the world from 1910) and other important pieces of italian aeronautical history.
The English version of our website Volandia will be ready in january 2009 and I’m sorry for this but in the museum you will find all information in English too and you can click the link below for some English version info about our project.

We are open only for groups during the week (on demand) and we open to the public every Sunday from 10.00am to 6.00pm
Best regards and have a nice day

Hey simon 😎 we must have been in the same spot…
Stunning and up close and personal imaging!..
great!
Great shot of the hurri in the weeds, that last one…
Somehow Hurri’s always look more static in pics than spits..
As usual Nick,
Excellent use of panning skills, giving crisp and razorsharp pics:)
Dear Andy and others..
Here is my first produce, that were modified with Photofiltre.. just basis adjustments, I went for cosmetic pleasing adjustments, and probably ingored all holy style rules…:diablo:
All comments welcome..I’m here to learn
Indeed a missed opportunity to offer physically challenged enthusiasts a good spot to grab a good shot.
I was lucky, as I found a spot on the extreme leftside of the flightline close to the dual spit at the front of the barriergate that was left miraculously untaken. :)….
…..Miraculously until installed myself all happy and feeling lucky and found out i was sitting behind the trash bag hanging from the barriergate 😮
Luckily the cold weather and the rain had prevented the bag from being overstuffed and it did not smell that much…:D
