actually got an email from boeing australia today, it explains the details of the flight and its destination and approximate arrival date.

very good of them to finally reply

i have been doing it for nearly 17 years now, just a little longer than you have been alive i suspect.

if a flight from singapore to nyc nonstop was possible it would also be called ultralonghaul, from singapore to frankfurt is 13hrs nonstop, that is 5 hours more than the classification of longhual. it is commonly, the flight must stop and refuel somewhere on route, you dont change planes, you dont get off, and if you dont think sitting in the same plane from singapore to nyc for 22hrs isnt ultralonghaul then maybe you should try it

i am an aussie and i am from perth, and for someone who has never been to perth that is a pretty ignorant comment.

thankfully i have been to brisbane and qld on a number of occasions and am able to make a qualified comment. i have lived in melbourne also, the weather there is a big detterant.

gold coast is a place to avoid at all costs, brisbane is not a par on perth, come over here and you will see why its the fastest growing capital in australia, and the 3rd most liveable city in the world.

it’s actually not for qantas’ benefit, its doing some testing for GE and boeing, has nothing to do with QF at all.

its doing joburg-perth-sydney-auckland then some other routes

thats precisely what i mean, everyone wants to fly sia because they assume that all of the above is true, sia is the same as any other airline, INCONSISTENT !

i have flown SIA on many occasions, longhaul, ultralonghaul, medium haul and shorthaul, they are no better or no worse than any other airline, just very overrated.

sia is average at best, i think ppl are so wrapped up with SIA being so good that they actually dont notice when they are bad.

best asian airline is by far Japan Airlines or Asiana, who i recently flew with and they are miles ahead of SIA.

qantas has a rather strong female representation on flight deck. on a recent flight a few weeks back with QF longhaul it was a pleasent suprise to see the f/o was female. i have had a number of flights on QF with a female tech member.

also Cathay has female tech crew, i believe one is from australia also on the A330 fleet

    CDG-IAD
CDG-LAX (again, also operate some 747’s here)
    CDG-SFO
    CDG-PVG
    CDG-SIN-CGK
    CDG-ICN
    CDG-KIX
    CDG-ATL
CDG-BOS (also operate A340’s on this route)
    CDG-EZE-SCL
CDG-MEX (also operate some 767’s on this route)
    CDG-CAI
    CDG-DXB
CDG-BEY (also codeshare with MEA on this route, who use 32S’s & A330’s)
    CDG-LAD
    CDG-JNB

regarding seating, I dunno, I haven’t been on the 777, but according to the seat map, 3-3-3 in economy, 2-2-2 in First
    and 2-3-2 in business.

I, like you, wasn’t convinced with the 340’s 2-4-2 in economy (it’s 2-2-2 in both cabins up the front)

Of course, these routes are not guaranteed to be operateb by 777, but it’s probably a fair representation of when to expect a 777. so, Hand, you may be in for at least 1.

Airfrance is also operating the A340 in to Singapore now, the service operates CDG-BKK-SIN and the same on the rtn leg, saw her in Sin a few days ago. the remainder are 777 operated.
