Firstly, my deepest condolences to Capt Fresques’s family and friends. May his spirit protect those he cared for before his untimely departure!
Secondly, anyone who moves next door to any type of airfield and complain about the noise level ought to have their minds seriously looked at! I am sure that while these people were looking at the house, they must have either heard the jets or maybe seen a couple take-off or land. If that bothered them at all, they should have looked at another place.

Does the USMC plan on building new Cobra Zulus or will they all be complete rebuilds?
There was a great feature on the AH-1Z Cobra in International Air Power Review Volume 12.

I just want to relay my deepest sympathies to whoever has been affected by this tragedy one way or another. My prayers and thoughts are with you! I hope those who were responsible will be brought to justice quickly and swiftly!

I wouldn’t mind seeing a few shots of the UH-1Y. It will be a good machine that will serve the US Marine Corps with impressive capabilities. I understand, at this point, that it will be used as a mode of transport for US Marine Recon force. Is there any truth to that?
This version of the venerable Huey has a great heritage and the USMC wouldn’t have had the aircraft substentialy upgraded if they believed they didnt’ have any more use for this aircraft.

Recently, an idea to host a non-championship race at Indiannapolis was put forward by the teams which failed to take the start in the USGP. However, the plan was turned down by Indiannapolis Raceway’s owner when he announced that they needed to focus on next year’s race.

I just found a little bit of information at a bottom of a pile of magazines I had sitting around collecting dust. According to International Air Power Review Vol.8, the UAE has asked the US government to purchase five refurbished E-2’s to Hawkeye 2000 standards for a total cost of USD$400 million.
As well, the UAE Air Force plans on asking for both EADS and Boeing to submit bids to supply them with two or more tankers equipped with both hose and drogue and flying boom systems. EADS would propose the A310 MRTT while Boeing would offer the KC-767.
This information dates back to first semester 2003.
Ja, thanks for your time, it is appreciated.

Mosley announced today that all seven team principals who made the decision no to race at Indy would have to appear before him and explain their reasons for taking such decisions. Unless satisfactory explanations can be provided, teams may incur penalties ranging from reprimands to points being taken away all the way to being disqualified from the championship permanently. The last one seems a little rash!
Anyone care to speculate what penalties each team might receive!
On the other hand, Michelin has decided to go ahead and reinburse certain costs (Not sure which ones) to those who were in attendance at Indiannapolis for the USA Grand Prix. As well, Michelin will purchase twenty thounsand tickets and will hand them out to fans for next years race. A good way to start fixing the problem!

Both Ecclestone and Mosley are responsible for the amount of turmoil F1 has witnessed in recent years. They should seriously take a long hard look at how badly F1 is viewed worldwide and try to overhaul the championship. Unfortunately, the amount of money they generate for themselves will cloud their judgement and eventually, the F1 circus will disappear to be replaced by GPWC. Ferrari could end up being forced to move over to the opposition and Mosley and Ecclestone will find themselves trying to figure out where everything went wrong for them.
These two clowns need to go away and allow fresh minds to take over a sport which had mythical proportions years ago. It is unfortunate money can twist your mind once it pours into ones accounts with almost relentlessly!

I don’t know! NASCAR drivers are well paid I am sure! However, Micheal Schumacher will make sixty million dollars to drive for Ferrari this year and I don’t know how much more through his sponsors. Unfortunately I don’t think that other drivers make that much money, Kimi would be the closest one in terms of amount made in a season.
Someone mentioned that Ferrari had the highest budget in F1, that might have been true up until Toyota came to F1. I remember watching a special on the various developments in F1 on the Discovery channel and they went over which teams had the highest budgets. Two years ago, Ferrari had a budget of just over 550 million Euros with Williams being a distant second with 340 million Euros. Today, Toyota sinks well over a billion dollars into its program as they badly want to win the title before archrival Honda-BAR does. Incredible! Cheers!
