LOL now thats something I WOULD pay to see!! 😀
All,
A couple of things to bear in mind;
If MS added in all of these suggestions, the ‘disk growth’ would increase rapidly. MSFS used to be sold on one disk, then two, now with FS2004 its 4 disks! Imagine how many disks they would need to fit on all of the above. Land textures…if they are too high detail the size is higher. If they are too low detail then there is no improvement. It’s a fine line they have to walk.
I’m not sure if it is yet possible to directly download MSFS from the allocated site, but if it was, imagine your download time for FS2006… “Time remaining – 2 days, 13 Hours 25 Minutes……and 10 seconds 😀 😮 ” lol.
Finally, there are hundreds, of addon retailers out there in sim-world. If MS included everything the sim companies do, they would put a hell of a lot of people out of business! It’s not all fun and games for MS, they have to make the right calls and decisions business wise before taking on-board suggestions for the next version….
But otherwise, I’d LOVE to see a pushback model!! Also a Pa28 in the default hangar pretty please :diablo: !

Martyn.

Just to add to the above, a major announcement was made several minutes ago;
“Happy Christmas to everyone at EuroManx Virtual!
In alight of the festive season, it is now time to announce some massive news to all of our pilots….
EuroManx Virtual will be making a commercial appearance at the 2006 International Flight Simulator Convention, to be held in Birmingham on the 2nd/3rd December!! http://www.ifcglobalnetwork.com/europe/index.php
We have already reserved our stand, and already have plans underway for the convention, to make it a weekend you simply cannot afford to miss.
The stand will include:
2 PC setups with different simulated situations, for all to try their hand at landing one of our fleet aircraft
EuroManx Virtual merchandise
A half-hourly presentation with printed leaflets for those in a hurry
Prizes for EuroManx Virtual competitions winners
A raffle (with all proceeds going to charity)
A special edition Euromanx airlines Dash 8 -Q300 aircraft model (designed by custom wings).
More details will be available on our forum throughout 2006, to keep you updated on our plans.
Make sure you book the weekend off work – this is going to re-define the word ‘big’!!
Hope to see each and every one of you there.
Best Wishes for Christmas 2005!
Martyn Bourner,
On behalf of EuroManx Virtual Admin Department.”
I’m not very technical myself;
But I have a P4 2.80Ghz with Windows XP, and I spent a lot of money buying some extra RAM (now I have 1.5GB RAM). Bought an NVidea graphics card for £140, and it allows me to use up to 3 monitors (2 CRT + 1 TFT – only use 2 CRT’s currently).
For FS it brings stable frame rates, betwen 15-30 with all the settings on MAX! Worth the investment, and it pays off when flying VFR. As for commercial FS flights, it all depends on the level of scenery add-ons you have. With a bit of tweaking you can get it just right.

wozza: A good VA takes a long time to emerge. If your skills as a manager are good enough, you may grow faster than other VA’s. Don’t expect too much too soon, and keep your patience and professionalism at all times.
I joined this forum today after checking up on my VA’s ‘google search’ progress :diablo: and finding a discussion topic about it (now locked 🙁 ), which leads my nicely onto my next pointer;
Get the word out as much as possible. Search engines, VATSIM members, affiliates, other VA’s (who you can form a bond with to not only improve reputation but also gain valuable knowledge and tips from). Make sure your VA’s name is heard, AND seen! Now, this is pretty difficult to do as a new VA. One reason is because of the limits put on forums, that prevent you from advertising new VA’s etc. Also, you will need a good sound website to build your foundations on.
My true advice to you as another VA chairman – plan small time, and short term, if you find the members come, increse the length of your plans and the size of your plans incremently.
If you expect a huge load of members within the first year you are kidding yourself, it never happens, this is simply one of those hobbies that takes a heck of a load of time and late nights of working!!
Best wishes for Chritmas,
Martyn Bourner.
PS – Concordeesst: Keep up the good work 😀
