Is it true that John Lennon used to collect WW2 stuff or am I being wound up?

Did Roy Cross do the Airfix Short Stirling box art? One of my favourite childhood memories of all time, such a massive early Bomber Command aeroplane captured so well.

One of my faves too F.N.

I`ve just picked up a framed print called `VC over Arnhem` by Wilf Hardy showing a blazing Dakota in formation, with about 12 signatures on it.I do like Geoff Nutkins work and also Dame Laura Knights `Stirling start up`.Nice to see the old comics and model pictures getting a mention..happy memories.

I think that`s great Hanglands……when I finish the cockpit, you can go through it all with the real thing to hand.

Well I`d like to know the answer to that one myself Mark. There was one in a Swedish Lake,in bits, with a crew member unaccounted for, with explosives on board, under a few feet of sawdusty gunge ..which would bring visibility down to zero….maybe that`s the one..and why it has not been recovered.Seem to remember it being surveyed and machine guns in containers showing up in the scans..but it`s a designated war grave.
