Less than an hour and a half
Always happy to oblige!
I bet they cut the lighting budget … !
We are in danger of turning the thread into a discussion of art theory!
Any number of things can provoke thought – it doesnt automatically make them art.
Bruce
True enough but equally many things are capable of being understood … !
For myself, for ‘Art’ to be considered as such, it must be capable of being understood, without being dressed in wordy prose by a bloke with a degree. If I were to happen upon this ‘work’ in 10 years time, when the weeds have grown up through the remains once more, would I understand the concept? I suspect not.
It could be said that the object is to provoke thought rather than being understood?
Bizarre. The ’12 0’clock’ Anson looks part restored, anyone know any more?
That radar must have kept the pilots ears warm when it was switched on!
I would certainly be interested … but as for wealthy 🙁
Will it be at flying legends next year?
I would imagine that if you were to sponsor the completion of the rebuild and the transport costs that the owners would be delighted to let it attend!
The owners of ‘Battle of Britain’ class locomotive No 34053 ‘Sir Keith Park’ are appealing for funds to complete the rebuild of the locomotive:

Tragic – I hope that they bring the perpetrators to justice quickly
I was thinking Vickers F7/41 or even Westland Welkin, but you are spot on with the Sturgeon TT3

It has to be said that the Venom (and Vampire) night fighters were not a success.
What were the reasons for their lack of success?
What a superb recovery, it must be great fun to achieve something like that. What would be the UK equivalent? A Wellington from Predannack perhaps, or maybe a Beaufort dumped at a farm strip somewhere in Somerset?
Surely it can only drag its tail when on the gound? Unless it had a severe CofG problem that I’m unaware of?
I am told that the Hermes flew with a definite tail down attitude, my first hand source on this is my mother, who was a BOAC stewardess on them!
Thats who I was thinking of! Born in New Zealand …
