Brilliant photos, thanks a lot for sharing! Wouldn’t you just love to fly on one of those Il-62’s?! I can only ever dream of flying on something like that, the reality has long passed….

I think mine would have to be Prague too. Lots of interesting bridges, amazing cathedrals and pubs! 😀

Just out of interest does anyone know what is the largest a/c to get in and out of here ?

I think it’s most likely to be the 146. Or in terms of length, possibly the Q400? But then, I’m not sure even if the Q400 is longer than the 146!

Nice set of shots, think this must be the first LCY ‘local’ spotter to post pics from there! Interesting to see the different side to one of London’s airports. Particularly like that last shot of the sunset, the full-size version must be a real cracker!

Great report, sounds like a very interesting experience! I have been to Paris many a time before, my mum once lived there for about 5 years and I used to spend 3 or 4 weeks there each yeah all in all. A trip to the top of Eiffel Tower is well worth it, done it 5 or 6 times before and it is still just as interesting! 😀

Also try a boat trip down the Seine, and the Moulin Rouge is quite good too 😉

Nooo! Damn it, so now I can only look out for the Hertz and Kilkenny at school 🙁 As mark said, I think the DUB routes are your best bet. I heard from an engineer who worked on CJF at Southend that these are limited to something like 15,000ft due to pressuriasation problems. Whether it’s a rumour, I do not know. But I know they did have problems with the lap-joints, and so it kinda makes sense?

Great shots Britannia! Just seen ZAPK take off from here several minutes ago, looks very nice in my opinion! Haven’t had the oppurtunity to go photographing at STN in a while, due to school work and other commitments. Summer holidays in several weeks though, hoping to bring back lots of nice piccies!

Nope, unfortunately. I was the boy-racer of the wizards. I had the mop instead. Bad idea though 🙁

I have been this evening, just got back from a huge fancy dress party! The taxi driver gave me a bit of a funny look when I jumped in in my Harry Potter costume. Ah well, not as bad tonight. Seem to remember several shots of Sambuca (horrible stuff, dont touch it. tastes like liqourish). Not as paraletic as last week though!

Great effects in that picture, I’d die to get as good as that, I guess you just have to be at the right place at the right time?!

And a very good camera with good shooting capability in low light levels. Not to forget a good lens 😉

    Johnny,

Are you positive that the BA is a 320? Looks like an A319 to me

Yup, looks like it starts G-EUP…, definitely not G-BUS… or G-EUU… that would make it an A320. So yes, A319 me thinks.

Nice shots! Like the Lauda with winglets

I thought he had a giant turd warpped round his head at first! Mind you, it probably doesn’t look far off from that, with the lack of washing.

One of the only operators into the UK I can think of is Olympic Aviation into Gatwick.
