Thanks LBARULES. Yes I am still at Changi, but gonan go now and see what reg’s I can collect before I board in…….30 minutes. Gotta lovely 12 hour flight in complete darkness…..wahay. Atleast it’s on a 747, that kinda compensates for it!

I don’t ever seem to have a problem, even in Malaysia. Our Qantas plane a few hours ago, taken before boarding. There were security guards with big guns behind me too!

PS. I’ve managed to get my pics off my cam onto this free pc at Changi! 😀 Sorry not the best quality, need a bit of editing at home.

Just had a walk around the terimals here, bloody huge! Went over to Terminal 2 to get some SIA reg’s, and now back in T1. There’s a Swiss A340 to my left now, next to a Thai 747 and Turkish Airlines A340. Quite a lot of movements, and a surprising amount of Qantas. I’m still looking out for my 747 to turn up, boarding in just over an hour.

And now for a couple of tasters, managed to use this ‘free internet’ pc to get my photos on to with a USB lead! First is about 3 hours ago, take off from KK on 767. Next is coming in on approach to Sandakan airport on MH737. Enjoy… 😀

I’m live in Singapore Changi again! Just arrived off our australian Airlines flight (operated by Qantas 767, VH-OGT) and now have 4 hours here collecting lots of regs (I reckon I’ll get most of the SIA fleet) before our QF747 flight to Frankfurt. I got quite a lotta pics during flight on our 767, mainly on take off from KK (Kota Kinabalu) and also of sunset as we approached Changi. At the end of the flight, sat in First Class for 10 mins after everyone else had got off the plane and then got a 15 minute cockpit tour, sat in the jumpseat whilst speaking to the pilots 😀 Got one or two pics.

Will not get any pics on our next flight, aside from possibly the landing at FRA, due to it being right through the night. Should get quite a few though on our BA 767 tomorrow morning. Taken about 350 pics on this holiday (not all aviation related) and have another 322 to take! Hmmm….wonder if I can make it 😎

Very quick message, internet costing a bomb! Flew across the island on monday. Was a MH737 there, just 25 mins. Then coming back an MH Fokker 50, 50 minutes. Both very good, got lots and lots of pics on the 737 flight! None on the Fokker 50 unfortunately, as it was dark. Although I did get in the cockpit in the end. We’re leaving here tomorrow afternoon, around 9am GMT, to Kota Kinabalu airport for our Australian Airlines 767 flight to SIN. We then have a 5 hour stop in Changi, might do a city tour, then back on Qantas for a lovely 12 hours to FRA, then BA 767 back to LHR. Will not get hardly any pics on the QF flight due to it being right through the night, although i will try my best for the AO and BA flights!

Yes it does mean L1011’s. Wahay! 😀

Bmused, hope you have fun! Hopefully you’ll get to see some of the new stuff, although I think the 767’s are early morning. The CY330 is about 2:30pm ish on Sunday. Check my STN spotting guide thread to see where to go, sorry i cant meet you!

STN is getting a great new selection of airlines/aircraft! 😀 They include Zoom 767’s, North American Airlines 767’s, Euro Atlantic, Cyprus A330’s (upgraded from A320’s), Spanair and Iberworld. Should be very interesting.

Thanks everyone! I’m now settled in borneo, at 4:15pm. Extremely hot, despite the huge tropical storm i just sat through in the pool 😀 Gotta bit more chance to write now, in SIN I only had 15 mins to reply on here and send a few emails. Well as i said, our first 2 flights were very good, and I would especially recommend Qantas. Our last leg was Australian Airlines 767 from Singapore to Kota Kinabalu. I was very impressed! Qantas plane, crew and feel to it. Quite spacious, fantastic livery and an above standard service. Flight was only 1hour 45minutes, and I couldn’t have expected anymore in that time.

Unfortunatley, no photos from that flight as it was all in the dark. Arrived at KK on time and went straight to the hotel. Looking forward to my next flights now, on Monday. Flying Malaysia Airlines on their Fokker 50’s (and possibly a 737) for a 40 minute sector accross the island, with a low pass over Mount Kinabalu if the pilots feel the weather is good enough 😀

Hope it’s going well back there, and I shall hopefully be able to get back on here within the next day or so (If you’re quick at replying, you may catch me now!)

It’s me, live from Singapore Changi! Just a quick update, arrived about 15 mins ago on Qantas 747 VH-OJB, absolutely brilliant flight! Highly recommend them to anyone if you can get a good offer, but will go into more detail when I get back home! It’s nearly 7pm and is 30C! Very hot, our BA flight from LHR was also very good, on G-EUPC with Capt Dave Judge. Only an hour in the air, but got to sit in the cockpit in the end and got a pic of me! 😀 Quite a lot of photos from our Qantas flight, watched sunrise over Southern Russia and then flew down over Pakistan, India, Bay of Bengal and then finally along the Malaysian peninsula. Have to go now to board our Australian Airlines 767. Don’t have a clue when i might get chance to update again, but shall speak to y’all soon! 😀

Euro Atlantic Airways operate L1011’s in Europe still. Mainly operating out of MAn and DUB I think, but they’re due to start up at STN this summer. May be able to work out a way to get on one…..

im not starting an arguement but all im saying is im kinda ashamed of my photos

Please, please stop bringing this up! Note how this (brilliant) thread is about ‘Pilots, frequent flyers, post your pics here’. The comments you’re making do not relate to this topic at all, and are littering a great thread with pointless posts. Please leave it.

On a lighter note, tonight I have an extra short night (flying in the same direction as the sun, so night should pass in just a few hours) and then I should hopefully get to see sunrise tomorrow morning from my Qantas 747. I’ll be clicking away, just gotta new memory card so I can take 685 photos 😀

EDIT: I’ll get to see sunrise tomorrow morning, not sunset 😉

But anyway, we’re now littering this brilliant thread with pointless rubbish. We’ve proved AO wrong, let’s leave it here and get back to what this thread is about, it’s starting to look like it was when Skylinerworld was around.

About as blue as it gets.

Following on from what LBARULES has just posted, it appears that AO’s other picture, of G-TTOJ, was taken by another well known aviation photographer, Paul Dopson.
