I don’t think there is any security as it is a domestic arrival. It was the same for me when I arrived in GLA from STN, straight off the plane, down the pier, and out into the terminal carparks within about 5 minutes or so!
Michael, i know I’m not going exactly where you were, but it’s in the same area! Just wondering if you had to take malaria tablets? And if so, how did you cope with them? Where we’re going we have to take them, I just hope there isn’t any side-effects.
And also, what is the weather like at this time of year? I’m guessing very hot, extremely humid, lots of tropical rainstorms etc?
Great report Michael, shame to hear about the inbound flight. I’m off to the sun and the warmth of the Far East in just over 2 weeks now, so I’m very much looking forward to it! 😀
I was there from 17:00-19:00. I did see EZJY at some point, around 17:30 I think. But this was Wednseday, you came yesterday didn’t you?
PS. Thanks for the comments!
No it’s definitely an MD-11. You can see the little part from the bottom of the winglet that sticks out beneath the wing. As for the airline, it would just have to be a guess. But I think Sandy’s right, white fuselage with grey on the belly.
Well I mainly notice it on the -200’s, with the ‘bucket’ reverse thrusters. As they travel down the high-speed, the buckets usually close after they’ve exited the runway. I don’t think they’re actually using reverse thrust ont he taxiway, it is just the delay for the buckets to close.
He could have possibly just exited the runway on a high-speed exit. I’m not sure if your supposed to still be using reverse thrust once you’re on the taxiway, but I see Ryanair do it all the time at STN.
Nice report, how would you rate Southampton airport? Always comes across as nice, small and efficient to me, but have never flown from there myself.
Thanks a lot Matt, don’t think they are anywhere near that good though! But then I am trying my very hardest with this cheap crappy £200 camera I have, if only I could get my hands on a DSLR I might be able to take some real quality pics! *sigh* I’ve tried uploading some to jp, if any of them do get accepted you should be able to see the full-size version on there soon. 🙂
If they are modified A319’s, then wouldn’t that make them A319LR’s maybe?! Or perhaps A319SP’s?! No need to stress about it, LBARULES and I are just simply making a point and trying to answer with all the knowledge we have 🙂
Privateair operate A319’s and BBJ’s on long haul routes accross the Atlantic. I can’t remember exactly where to, but I read about it fairly recently (probably in an AW magazine).
Go to http://www.irfanview.com . Download the program, install it and then open up oen of your pictures on there. You can resize it, and then when you go to save it you can set the amount of jpeg comression. On a standard picture, putting the setting to around 90 will bring it under 100Kb. If that still isn’t small enough, bring the number down until it is the right size.
Can’t you post them on here for all of the forum users to see?
Hmmm, interesting…Can anyone enlighten us? Wys, skycruiser, softlad etc?
The FedEx plane you saw was FedEx 6 whicj arrives from Newark. If you’re interested in the reg, it was N620FE. This is the flight that shakes my school every afternoon during last lesson! 😀 I see they were on RWY23 all day, where did you go and what did you do? Any chance of a report, I always like to hear of people’s experiences at my local?!
