Already cacking yourself over Key Stage 3?! Ahah I wouldn’t if I were you. As I said, wait til you get to your GCSE’s, that’s when they actually count for something! Key Stage 3 is mainly just to assess how good the schools and the teachers are, not the individual pupils.
Are there any other good vantage points closer to the airport, that don’t require as much zoom?
Well I think the National average is only around level 5/6 in all subjects, so it should be ok. It’s when you get to your GCSE’s that you start cacking yourself 🙁

Ahah Key Stage 3! What a doss, I wouldn’t get yourself too worked up about them! They mean absolutely nothing anyway, i got level 8 in Maths then level 7 in Science in English, the best you can get, do you think it’s ever gonna make a difference to my life?!

On those first shots, we you using full 6 X zoom to take them?
Nice pics, did you take that Titan one from near the bridge that goes across the railway to the staff carparks?
Erm nope it’s still the worst! Security are VERY tight (getting the police on me just for locking my bike up in a wooded area  ). There are no official spotting places, and even the un-official places aren’t too good. The main problem is that the land is quite un-flat, and so trying to take pictures of aircraft on the ground is made nearly impossible unless you want the wheels of engines cut off. The only pics I’ve ever managed to get of planes at STN are of planes on approach, as there are no fences in the way and I don’t need much zoom for my rubbish camera!
Yes if you just want to grab a few reg’s then it is possible from alongside the terminal. However, views are restricted, security are tight and there’s not much to see. Only really useful if you have a short amount of time to kill. Thanks! 😀
Nice shots, do you have much optical zoom on that thing? I only have 3X optical on mine, not much at all unless the planes are flying over your head, when you don’t sometimes need any zoom.
Ok…hmm I should be going to Heathrow on that day by train just to do some spotting, but if that doesn’t go ahead there’s a chance I could meet ya and show you around. But good news, the planes have been on RWY05 for the past couple of weeks and still are today, so hppefully it’ll remain that way. Then you don’t have the long boring walk to the field! You can just walk down past the control tower etc instead.
Yes you’re right EGNM, BZZB is flying for Easyjet in a hybrid scheme. Just the normal Easyjet titles, no colour on the tail or engines.
Thanks Speedbird12T and BigVince. Speedbird and Concordesst, is there any reason for you coming down to STN? And how long are you gonna be here for?
Stansted, around 17 million PAX a year (increasing at a huge 17.5% a year! 😮 ).Just the one runway and one terminal as it stands, but the second runway should be going ahead as planned shortly, and they were even proposing making STN bigger than LHR with 4 runways!
