As I have already mentioned, none of these are particularly good but I will learn from my mistake (like next time go around midday when there is better light). There should be some more to come hopefully within the next few weeks, I should be going to Heathrow next weekend.

Well done Martin, it looks like the luck has turned in your direction. Best of luck for tomorrow and I really hope that it all goes well.

P.S: First buzz, now Air Berlin, I take it the Bae146 isn’t very good for low cost airlines. I wonder how flybe are getting on with their “whisper jets”?

The 146’s weren’t designed for 20 minute ryanair style quick turnarounds. They were designed to be very durable, and to be able to fly into small, rural airports. Just a look at the plane tells you this, high engines (so as not to suck in loose material from rural runways), low cargo hold door (so you don’t need a belt loader) and on-board steps (so you don’t have to rely on airport facilities.)

I think that the logo looks quite modern, not at all bad, and the engine colour mixes quite well, but the belly should either be grey, or the same colour as the engine.

I think that the people on these sites that ‘make up’ new liveries should be the livery designers themselves. Almost all of these fantasy liveries look so much better than the real thing.

Moondance, that’s hilarious, thanks for showing us that. I’m afraid that I’m at school on Thursday, but next time you organise a meeting, if you can make it a weekend or in the holidays, I will be very happy to come along.

I have my nan’s booking confirmation and flight details for her BOAC Comet flight from Heathrow to Nairobi. It is on thick qualit paper and is hand written, will try to scan it once I have dug it out.
