Dont you think that’s a bit unfair though? I suppose a lot that appeals to concorde pilots is the fact that you get to go half way accross the globe in a lot less time, meaning less time cramped up in the cockpit, whereas in a 747 your stuck with autopilot for hours upon end. I think if BA are going to do anything, they should atleast offer them any aircraft they want, after all it’s not their fault.

Does anyone know what the concorde pilots are going to do once BA quits flying?

Here at Stansted we get a few unusual visitors. As LN Strike Eagle mentioned, and as was also displayed in Airliner World a couple of months ago, we have recently had the An-22. An-124’s are also fairly common here, but not as common as they used to be (they take too long on the runway for an expanding airport like Stansted). Quite often we have the Dubai Air Wing 747 SP’s in and so far this year, I have seen 5 Saudi aircraft there: 2 MD-11’s, 2 SP’s and a Hercules.

Ryanair has more aircraft, more employees and i belive, more revenue. However, they will soon be competing very closely once Ryanair has it’s 100 or so 737-800’s delivered, at the same time as Easyjet’s 119 (I think) A319’s delivered. Ryanair definately has more routes with around 80 from Stansted alone

Does anyone know when the last scheduled flight in or out of Heathrow will be? I hope you don’t mind me saying this but it is absolutely b***dy ridiculous that BA are stopping her from flying. It takes me 2 hours by train to get to Heathrow from where I live, but no matter what I will DEFINATELT get up there some weekend before she goes. I am also hoping to get her on video camera to keep as a treasure for my grandchildren in many years to come. Are the concorde flight times the same at the weekend as they are on weekdays? Are sundays any quieter than other days at Heathrow?

Great report and welcome to the forum. I have been on almost every British charter airline I can think of apart from Monarch, and I really want to go on one. I love their new livery, it is 10 times better than the previous one, certainly one of my favourite liveries around (with Edelweiss and Air Jamaica firm favourites). I went on Astraeus to Egypt and back last year, and was very pleased with everything about them. At first I thought that they were a bit of a long shot, especially competing with airlines such as Air 2000 out of Gatwick, but I think that they have done very well for themselves and now they need to take it just one step further……

That display was absolutely brilliant, I was there too. The registration was ZS-SAK. There were some very good models for sale there aswell, for cheap prices. I recommend trying to find the wings and wheels stall when you are next at a major airshow, they offer some fantastic prices on civil and military aircraft models. I bought a Starjet 1:200 BA 757 for £18, and two dragonwings 1:400, a AA DC-10 and a Delta 777 for £10 each. And they weren’t sale prices, it was just normal.

Those photos are absolutely fantastic!;) They are all worthy of something more than airliners.net, although you should put them on there anyway. The detail is superb and the picture quality in general is just amazing. Have you any more to show off? If so I would love to see them 😀

It is a joke. Note ‘virgin’ and ‘slut’. They kind of contradict each other

I think that there are atleast 6 photos on there worthy of being accepted on airliners.net, and possibly even more. I think ones that are worth a try to be accepted are:

    First easyjet pic- superb lighting
Go pic- just fills the frame nicely
    G-OFRA Easyjet zoomed in pic
    MyTravel 757 landing- amazing scenery
BA Dash 8- once again, fills the frame nicely
    G-OSLH Easyjet landing- great photo

It could be worth a try

Great Pics! Love the Dash 8 and the DHC 6. I always wanted to fly those little otters. Don’t they fly to places like benebcula where they land on the beach? I am really wanting to get a nice digital camera but can’t afford nothing near top of the range, and I’m not sure how far down the range I can go but still get good quality. i am not looking for lots of fancy features and everything ele, just an affordable digital camera that takes good quality photos. Any ideas?

What a coincidence though wys. I am glad you enjoyed the pictures. Do you ever take any from the cockpit. It is a shame that you are not allowed in the cockpit any more during flight, I can remember sitting in the jumpseat of a Go 737-300 coming into land at Prague, and that was only August 2000. Before the new regulations did you ever let anyone sit in the jumpseat if they seemed keen on aviation?

Charley, I stayed in a hotel on Matagorda beach, the resort between playa de los poscillos and the airport. But you can easily get to the airport from playa de los poscillos, just go onto the beach and carry on walking, about 20 minutes later you should reach the approach lights, and it is always nice to walk along the beach anyway. I have walked to the airport from when I have stayed in playa de los poscillos before, but matagorda is literally about a quarter of a mile walk, and as soon as you are on the beach, before you even reach the approach lights the planes are still close enough to see the registrations without binoculars.
