Nice work Chris, I too have flown on G-FCLA home from ACE!
Cheers Steve 😀
Well done Lance, a lucky catch! Must’ve been pretty damn impressive standing near that thing. Did it feel much more over-whelming than say a 747?
A slightly different one tonight….

Cheers Tom! 😎
Thanks everyone, very much appreciated!
Cheers you too!
How did I see it coming? I was following a flashing blip with my eyes whilst looking out the window, and it looked like it was heading towards the moon. Pulled the camera out, very quickly picked my settings and with a stroke of luck, managed it.
Thanks a lot everyone, very much appreciated! With this kind of welcome, I can’t wait to get out taking some new shots 😀
Stuart, you were very close.
All correct, but the 1st one is acually ACE aswell, and the Hurricane was at FAB.

Cheers for the advice people! Tom, it’d be good if you could make it. Let me know your plans.
Just looked at Wellington Road on a map…I was expecting it to be the other direction from Myrtle Avenue to get close to where they turn. Maybe I’m wrong…you reckon it’s possible for these kinda banking shots from Wellington Road? http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1115580/L/
Thanks everyone, I’ll look forward to posting again too!
The pub just off Wellington road, the next street from Myrtle seems pretty good.
Would that be past the BP garage and turn right?
Could anyone recommend the best place for the banking shots on 09R? I would imagine it’d be somewhere further up the road from Mrytle Avenue, past Hatton Cross? It’d be good to try some side-on banking shots if they’re coming that way.
Oh, and it’ll also be nearly exactly a year since I came back from LHR with a couple of shots that become quite popular, such as http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0938002/L/ . I think that’s definitely a good sign for the 6th, fingers crossed!
I’m currently in my 2nd year of 6th form studying A-levels in Maths, Economics and Physics. After completing them next July I plan to take a year off and go travelling a bit. I then intend in the Summer of 2008 to start my flying training at Stapleford airfield to eventually gain my ATPL to go and fly for an airline. If the industry changes, or I can’t source the money, or I fail the medical, I shall then use my A-levels to get a degree. Probably in something related to Aviation Management or Economics….possibly Aeronautics.
