Cheers both of you. Good to see you back Andy!
Very nice, Dan. I presume the Fedex is departing too, looks like it has a high flaps setting for departure?
I was thinking that too…it does look like a rather high setting. But it could just be an illusion, with the huge size of the flaps.
Great work Paul, enjoy the Bigma!
Nice work, CO with winglets always look great.
Great shots, nice to see EI-DAY which I’ve flown on.
WP – I carefully did the sensor clean myself, as I have not heard good reports about Canon’s own sensor cleaning service. It was so dirty that something had to be done and anything would improve it. I very carefully used a blower brush – I admit it was a bit of a gamble, but it appears to have paid off.
Did you simply blow the sensor (with the blower brush) and hope for the best? I have a blower thing here, could give it a try.
Excellent shots Phil.
Can I ask where you went for your sensor clean, and how much it cost? My 350D is in desperate need.
It had leather effect dark blue seats with quite good legroom – I’m 6ft 3 and I had no trouble with the legroom. It was very clean and the 3 cabin crew were very nice and friendly. The overhead baggage compartments are quite small, as you’d expect for a 146 but i put my stuff under the seat in front. The seatback pocket has all your usual stuff for Jet2 – magazine & safety card etc…
One small thing was that I found it quite dark inside, although it may be partly due to the fact that I was sat next to the wing and because it is a ‘high’ wing, it blocks out the light.
Thanks for comments everyone
Ok thanks a lot for that. Is it kitted out in Jet2’s own interior, or is it operating using the interior that Flightline would use?
Nice shots! Three aircraft I’ve flown on there….EI-DAY, EI-DAG and EI-DAO. I flew on EI-DAY from Dublin to Cork the other month.
Great report Tom. What was the inside of G-FLTC like? Comfy, clean, etc? I shall be flying on her later in the Summer.
Hmmm… the only problem I’ve got is with this line…
So presumably the passengers at STN expecting to fly to Rome were left there… no time to get them to LTN and down to Rome before the airport closed, and no spare aircraft at STN to operate instead of positioning empty.Great for you WannabePilot, but maybe not so great for some other passengers… though having said that, it would have been no surprise if the passengers in Rome hadn’t been left there to look after themselves so some kudos to FR.
Well if we all take the stories we hear to be true, you would have expected Ryanair to have left us in Rome, having ‘had’ to cancel the outbound flight. The fact that they flew down empty seems quite a surprise…I’m quite sure that the fuel used, and the refunds issued for the outbound, would have cost them heavily that day.
Excellent trio Lance!
That’s stupid, how close are you at the AVP, Southside etc… It’s getting abit of a joke now, I just hope they don’t start moving people on a regular occasion.
Haha, you should be local to another airport in the UK, and then you’d understand when it turns into ‘a joke’. At STN, there is a single place where we’re allowed to collect and not get moved on, or Stop and Searched. That is where I took my photos the other evening (check out the thread, you’ll see). In the Winter, the Sun doesn’t even get as far as that side, and in the Summer the Sun is only round from about 5pm onwards! So for the whole Wnter, and Summer before 5pm, there isn’t anywhere for us to go without being hassled. I only go to one other place, a farmers field for approach shots, because that’s well out of the hands of the Airport Police. And again, the Sun is only round in the late afternoon.
Many thanks everyone, greatly appreciate all the kind comments!
Manston, cheers for the info on Orbis.
Elgan, I shall indeed be bringing it to BFS.
I’ll tell you what Dan, keep posting shots like that and I’ll gladly pay your fuel costs. (Or at least buy you the beers I owe you when Tom ((LBA)) and I visit STN on the 9th August if you’re around!)
Paul
Cheers Paul! I’m afraid that I’ll be on my way back from PMI on the 9th. Another time!
Great work! I would really like to get to LBA, there seem some good vantage points. I guess I should try looking at a way of coming via DUB, or something.
Absolutely brilliant as ever mate, you sure make those Ryanair’s look good!
Cheers…..Tom! That’s 3 Tom’s in a row…
Last night I think sparked the photography addiction in me again. It can become very tedious in the Winter, spending lots of money going out and coming home then struggling to edit much, and eventually it can be difficult to hold onto that urge to be outside taking photos. Whereas last night, it cost me about £1.50 in petrol, and I came home with a fair amount of sharp, well lit shots.
