Don’t be nervous. If you’re worried about doing something wrong, you’ll go and do it. Just tell yourself it’s easy, and you’ll understand it.

I turned 17 a couple of weeks ago. Best thing you can do is get your theory out of the way. I passed my theory 2 days after my birthday, and it’s been such a relief. I’ve now booked my practical test for the next avialable date, in Novemeber. I’m planning to have had 10 lessons by then, just gonna go all out over the next month and give it my best shot.

Ah just seen on your jp profile that it’s the 75-300, unless you’ve changed recently. Same as me, although should be upgrading soon.

    Hi Dom, great stuff.

I see you around on jp.net. What camera/lense set-up are you using? I remember speaking to Michael Cathpole, I think he said 100-300?

Personally love Caffreys draught. Stella is probably my favourite lager on the market.

But nothing beats a chilled glass of Smirnoff Vodka :diablo: 😎

Guiness is probably in the same region as Caffreys.

I’m looking at a few local pub/restuarant menu’s here. For a fairly standard portion of steak and chips (fries), we’d pay an average of £6-9. So that’s $11-16. Then a glass of coke on top of that is usually £1.50, so add approx $2.50.

In the UK we seem to be ripped-off for nearly everything.

    A double cheese-burger in McDonalds costs us 99p, so that’s about $1.75.

A quarter pounder (we don’t get half pounders) with fries and a drink is about £3.70-80, so around $6.70.

A 24 pack of good lager such as Stella can be anything between £15-20. So that’s $25-35.

Take a draught beer like Caffreys, a 4 pack of 330ml cans would be around £3-4, so $5-6.

In average how long? A few weeks? A month? A year?

Impossible to say. I think the 10 lessons is around the minimum you can pick it up in, and some people will take as much as 30. But then how many lessons can you handle a week? I could take 10 lessons, one a day, and be ready to drive within 2 weeks. Unfortunately the most I can fit in is about 2 lessons a week, so it’s still gonna take atleast a month. You’ve also got to get on the list to take your theory test, which around here is a week long. Once you’ve got that, you’re then able to book your practical test. The first date available here at the moment is 7th November, I’m still debating if I should take it!
