I’m waiting for confirmation that I can take the bus to LGW for free (dont ask..) and if that’s all good then I’ll be booking up 😀

An excellent move by Easyjet! Many of Easyjet’s route are aimed at the leisure and business traveller, but I guess a lot of business travellers are lost due to the ‘tackiness’ that lo-co’s are associated with (I know, this is not true). The fact that they are offering lounge facilities will give the business traveller that slightly more important feel, and as Shamrock says it will attract them for sending last minute e-mails etc.

I’ve just signed up for internet banking so that I can view my balance on here, and work out where my money’s going. If I decide I can afford it, I’ll confirm very soon (yes, £30 could mean the difference between black and red!).

I have already printed the bus timetable and your instructions (although white text on white paper is not too legible (joke! I copied the text into Word and marked it, then changed to “Automatic” for the font colour, which gave me black text)).
I’m all set for my next Stansted visit now, many many thanks.

Obviously the small bus stop underneath the approach does not appear on that timetable, but the bus would take approx 5 minutes in either direction. Therefore on the way back to the terminal, if you take the arrival time and minus 5 minutes, then that’s roughly when the bus will pass through to be picked back up again.

When asking for a ticket on the bus, just say you’re going somewhere near the long-stay car parks. Otherwise they may charge you for the whole distance to the next town.

And remember, that location is only for RWY05 arrivals. Unless you want to watch the RWY23 climb-outs

All we need now is for you to add the the bus timetable for the number 510 on your web site

And voila, guess what has appeared on the spotting/photography page :p

Google for ‘stansted spotting’ and the very first two hits give you excellent guides to photography and spotting there.

Neither of those 2 give very much detail about where to spot, particularly when half of my e-mails are from people who have taken a cheap flight to STN and are wondering where they can ‘spot for a few hours’. They’re also outdated, and some areas that were fine before have since become strictly controlled by security. I’m aiming to give information whenever it comes about, and looking at which spots are being cracked down on and which others are still ‘safe’ to use.

Also if you’d have looked at mine you would have seen there are sections for recent sightings, and also for what’s due (updated daily, with information collected from various sources), neither of which the other 2 have.

I’m looking into it. Jet2 is £30 return including tax from LGW. And I can use the National Express bus from STN for free.

If I do book up, it’ll mean having to put on hold my plans of going to AMS sometime in August. Ren Frew, I guess GSM never did announce those AMS flights?

Excellent stuff there Mark, twas a well worthwhile trip. As I said to you on msn, I’d add my few from STN when you made a thread to save having 2 of the same stuff. So here they are, mainly repeats of what Mark has already posted.

Oops, I lied! Overlooked this one when I did my editing. Taken in the drizzle just as she took off, my final attempt at getting a photo with the whole plane in it.

Nice to see that Ren and I aren’t the only rain gods on here……

We (me and Mark L) went upto STN this morning, I’ll try and post a few of those shots within the next couple of days. Mark might have a few from SNN that he wants to add too (a full frame of the World Airways?!).
