Very high class move sir.
To be commended.

I received a letter in the mail today from the de Havilland Moth club.
A member is warning others about being defrauded out of a rather large sum of money in regards to purchasing an engine.
(in this case a Le Rhone). The buyer, in good faith, sent a substantial deposit with the promise of balance after the engine had been inspected.
The engine never showed up. Long story short, this gentleman is out his deposit with no practical recourse.
Buyer beware!
Andy
I’m afraid that I have no information for you. Doubtless there will be folks on this forum who do.
I do know that many will be interested to see any of your photos that you can share with us.
Welcome.

That looks like a real score!
I have followed this project for some time, this is my first comment.
Kudos to you Elliot. I admire you folks that strive to resurrect the less glamorous work horses.

C-FPHZ is still resident and in airworthy condition in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.

Congrats on the disassembly.
Thanks for the interesting post.

I’m fairly new to this forum. I can’t find the “drool” emoticon!
I like Michael’s ides of having one of these in my living room.
Art work by Mike Nixon.
Thanks Matthias.

There is a Hercules powered Beaufighter being restored to fly in Australia
I’m aware of the Beaufighter at Moorabbin. Bristol powered, but not to fly AFAIK.
I’m also aware of the Beaufort. Pretty sure this is going to be P&W 1830 powered.
To which project are you referring Oxcart?

Great stuff, Matthias! I do love that whining sound before the engine starts, too.
A.K.A. inertia starter. You often see them being wound up by hand. (A capability on the 109).
I tried to hand start the Swordfish that is now at Vintage wings of Canada, when it was still owned by the man who rebuilt it. (Bob Spence).
I wound, but she wouldn’t start that day.
Andy
That is some extremely beautiful art work!
Vintage V-12s is a place that must be gifted with many craftsmen! A rare thing these days.
Thanks Matthias!

It gets really exciting when you have all those flames, keep on cranking, and it doesn’t want to fire.
I thought going out for a rip in my Tiger Moth was plenty of fun. Imagine heading out to chase your mate with a couple of those things! That must be about as good as flying can get!

Tiger Moth CF-MAD
Thanks for the updates to this commendable project.
I think your students have encountered a teacher they won’t soon forget!
Bravo!

Very much looking forward to more posts from you Matthias!
Thank you for your efforts.

Agreed, very nice.
Thanks for that.

I guess Peter Garners BMW VI powered He 51 fits the bill quite nicely. Nice looking project so far too.
Are we ever going to see a Jumo 213 powered FW-190 Dora? (Eric Vormezeele maybe?)
