I feel very fortunate to have had opportunity to see Mr. Deford’s Spitfire replica on numerous ocassions and while it won’t fool the hard core afficianados it certainly is a fine accomplishment, IMHO.

That is an excellent way to phrase appreciation of this fine replica Chad.

I have no doubt that Mr Deford has a heck of a lot of fun flying this full scale V-12 powered beauty.
I’m O.K. that it has a 3 blade prop. I’m O.K. that it doesn’t look exactly the same from 500 feet.
I would be comfortable, going out on a limb, saying that Mr Deford is pretty comfortable with that too, and the extra $million or so that is still in his bank account.

This machine deserves to be appreciated.

Thanks for posting those pictures Peter.
I’m in the middle of rebuilding a Gipsy Major.
Compared to the challenge you must have, well……
    ……what can I say?
This is such a fantastic project. I know that people are always focused on the end, but, I find it quite important to enjoy the whole process.

    Cheers

I have so enjoyed following the “baddacooda” thread. (It was the reason I joined this forum).
The writing style is so interesting and clever.
Here’s hoping for the best, and the prevailing of cooler heads.
Thanks for sharing the revolutionary restoration work you and your team have been doing. (Bluebird is Okay too I guess 🙂
Please give my best to the crew.

    Funny you should ask.
I saw this for the first time today. Posted on WIX. http://www.worldwarbirdnews.com/2012/03/02/a-potez-63-11-will-soon-fly-in-texas/

Looks pretty darn close to being ready. What a cool project.
    Imagine it beside the Blenheim
