I use TV mode and adjust the shutter speed accordingly, in bright weather the F number shouldn’t really matter that much, just ensure you shutter speed is fast enough to “freeze” the action.

However in bright sunlight using Av F8-11 you should be able to get a decent shutter speed.

Different ways of achieving the same outcome.

I stop down 1/3 – 1 depending on the sunlight.

Have a play with some test shots, maybe moving cars on the road, see what you prefer.

Alright Si! I see you found the Esso Garage!

The Kuwait and ACA A330 looks like the white balance is incorrect.

As for RAW, I shoot in RAW and edit in RAWshooter (levels, exp, sat) then CS2 (level, sharpening, noise).

Nice pics, some are nice and sharp.

Practise matey, your on ship ones the other were cracking…dif workflow maybe?

was glad to see the A345, was expecting a A330 to be about 3 miles high at that point but it was good to see the A340 slowly climb and bank!

    Nice one Fellas,

    REF, Camera for all but the last one = 30D + 100-400 IS L and the last was 350D + 70-200 IS L F2.8.

as for settings, was very changable, just gotta play with the camera and the conditions, I don’t think there was a setting that worked well more than once!

Theres nowt wrong with setting your standards high. Levelling included, not just for a.net.

Just keep practising the workflow, it will become 2nd nature!

I agree the contrast need a kick, maybe the levels sliders are not on the edges of the histogram?

don’t forget http://www.aircraft-photos.net best bunch of fellas on the web .-)

as for a.net standards! I’ve had an increase in luck recently but its still very much hit and miss.

Excellent first crack buddy! Very sharp considering the poor conditions you have. The conditions make the noise on the pic more visable.

I think with that start tho when you get a bit of sun you’ll be well on your way.

Look forward to seeing some more.
