Weird roundel on that Mi-24!
And a wrecked example, likely from Upper Volta as well, given the roundel as well as the rather rural and very African looking surroundings. From http://internationalflyerz.co.za as well.
And here’s one from the Ivory Coast. Landing gear looks weird, but I guess that doesn’t matter if it’s permanently shackled to the ground. From http://internationalflyerz.co.za.
And speaking of Broussards, here’s one from Niger. From http://www.aviationphotocompany.com. And I wonder if the one in the background to the right is from Upper Volta? With the combination of the roundel and the rudder striping, that’s my best guess.
Madagascar Broussard :
This is incredible! Thanks!
Speaking of Madagascar, I found an Alouette II with strange roundels. I believe it is from Madagascar, but I am not sure. Can anybody confirm this one? From http://www.aha-helico-air.asso.fr.
French Potez 25 over Madagascar.
What the hell has the EU got to do with NATO except for the fact that they are equally evil organizations?
Nic
Evil? Compared to what? The Warsaw Pact? al Qaeda? ISIS? Seems you have a rather primitive, simplistic, and naïve understanding of the word.
Some great helicopter shots cy24driver2 – Myanmar Sokols and Egyptian Black Hawks are great.
Here are some shots of Brunei Black Hawks and a Wessex

The Wessex is fantastic!
Could be this VAM-310

Yes, it appears so. I don’t see the bort number VAM-310 anywhere, though- does anybody else? Also, is that the flag about halfway down the tail fin? It may have been painted out.
No. I fear that Sy is now a failed stated. Recent events confirm only an acceleration in this trend. So speaking about the once SyAAF owned planes, one should more discuss it as a thing of the past or include this fact in the title.
I agree. It’s very sad to see a place that was the cradle of modern civilization now turned into one of its graveyards.
Actually it is the first asset of the newborn South Yemen AF. Without the communist red star, obviously.
Just kidding. 😀 Maybe the green color turned into blue under the hot sun. Or something like that.
Yes. It may also be the lighting playing tricks, as well as the relative comparison between the green in the camouflage and that of the roundel that makes it look blue. But, then again, it may indeed be something weird…
Finally a better look at the Mozambique roundel (thanks P-shadow)
This is FANTASTIC- thanks so much! You have no idea how long I’ve been searching for this one! But I figured somebody on this thread or the ongoing voluminous small air forces threads would eventually find it. As the Aussies say, “Good on ya, mate!” Gerard and P-shadow, you deserve some sort of medal.
Anyone has a picture of a Cypriot Mi-26?
Edit: more information here http://www.aeroflight.co.uk/user/fleet/cyprus-af-mil-mi-26-halo.htm
I never had even the slightest idea that they used this one. It was leased for only one year, so perhaps it didn’t wear Cyprus air force colors. Would love to have a picture of this one, too.
I was just thinking about how much amazing and incredible stuff has been posted on these threads since the first one got started. This series just has to be one of the most tremendous, impressive, mind-boggling compendiums of aircraft images and information ever compiled. My sincere thanks go out to every one of you who have contributed, who have made this collection so magnificent.
