project
Hi
I’d buy the whirlwind bits recovered from that scotland dig in the 70’s , take them out of storage and rebuild it.
Even with replacement engines it would be good to see flying

follow up
Hi All,
Maybe of interest , just found a photo in an old aerojournal, ( No 29 ) of a Hurricane IIc with it’s cannons removed , exactly the same as the tiffie, the hurricane photo was captioned that it was with a met flight.

Hi
If they write to the local tax office, explaining all in a letter.
If they have any details, they might forward the letter to him, but won’t reveal his present address, etc.

the war in the air
Hi,
Slightly o/t,
But in the war in the air pub1968, pg 106 -9 ,
Air Com R.Chilsolm, CBE,DSO,DFC , writes of shooting down an a/c which later turned out to be a beaufighter.
So accidents did happen and judging by his future rank & awards , they were accepted by those in power as happening.

trials
Hi,
Might it have been useful to have cameras in the cannon ports ?
Of interest in mar/apr ’43 trials were being undertaken of the first 1000Lb bombs on tiffies.

flemish farm
Hi,
Could you possibly post details for DD video , So I can get a copy !!!
I have been hunting the film for many years, It is supposedly based on a pilot escaping and flying with the RAF, apparently a mediocre film .
The pilots flying the hurricanes were from 193Sq at harrowbeer, the filming was mainly undertaken from church stanton, pilots flew up on 7 feb 43 from Harrowbeer and returned 18 feb 43, Four hurricanes were involved.

dakota
Hi
My first thoughts were DC3 india 42 to,
then to I thought DC2, but isn’t a DC 2 a smaller fuselage,
although admittedly the small hatch is right for a DC2 , but the dorsal fin is ‘DC3 ish’.
I wondered if it was an ex dutch/belgian/airliner acquired by the RAF and repainted and then left..
Must admitt I am no ‘DC’ expert,
Hoping to find one here.
Wonder if it ever flew in luftwaffe markings, I imagine in may 40 , they could still have bought parts from the US to fix it.
Cheers
