Can it be kept on strengh and re-housed? Seems a shame to sell it on after so much hard work.
Top marks from me, seemed to be a full house. My only minor comment would be to move the start time to 10 or 11ish as probably the main bulk of buyers were banging on the door at 9am after a lot of early starts. The flip side of course is that it would affect normal museum visitors and the traders would have to set up while visitors are on site.
Did you have to turn any traders away due to lack of space? It did give a good impression of being a worthwhile trip to be actually faced with an excellent collection of items but it would be nice if more traders signed up if you can take them.
Tick VG, well done
Maybe he was thinking of this chap…..
The .50 cal mount is for a ground .50 HMG, not aircraft related other than its from an anti aircraft mount.
Is that control column in thread 97, the same type as used in the Lancaster?
Winged victory was so popular that many WW2 pilots brought it for it’s accurate description of air combat.
Are they both still air worthy?
Does anyone know the dimensions/ proportions of the Yellow edged roundel and the BS paint codes?
This is one for me…..
Do you have the contact details for David Baker at Auster spares in the UK? He should have the item in stock or try Light Aero Spares if you have the part number.
I’d sign up for a syndicate……
Just wait and see what the New Year will bring, there might be an option locally to get it under cover. Cant say much at the minute but i think you will be pleased with whats in the pipeline.
Thanks chaps, thats exactly the information that i was looking for, would the SCR be correct for the DDay period as i’m researching the pros and cons of the auster and cub.
Probably not what you want but found this one….
Looks like the pilot did a great job of getting her down, cant be many places around there suitable to park a Lanc….
Trust me, 10 feet at 120 knots along the Basra highway on the wrong side of the road is much more fun, plus you can fly with your arm out the window smoking tabs……
