So whats it off? Any ideas…..
Unfortunate and potentially dangerous but i doubt it was illegal, unless the NOTAM mentions anything different. Just because it is an organized event doesn’t automatically seal off the airspace above it.
Would be interesting to see if the light aircraft filed an Airprox against the Spitfire

Dig a pit/ dry dock for the boats, they are too high up and people walk straight past them because all that is on view is the underside of the hulls. Bring them back down to sea/ ground level.
I take it the local area was checked for obvious signs??? Would be a shame if you were only a few feet away from the holy grail.
Thanks chaps, its surplus to my requirements and am willing to part with it if anyone needs one. It’s fully serviceable and I would be keen to trade it for any Lancaster bits.
Ok, next question. Do we think that a late war MK1 instrument panel would have been built with the cut out for the switches blanked off or left plain?
Just as i thought, thanks very much.
The Volcanic ash cloud prevented the Typhoon and Lancaster displaying as the Northern arfields were within the effected areas. The organisers did well, as it could have been alot worse if the show was cancelled all together.
Why do i think this is a total waste of money?….. Better diverting funds to the Cardington airship hangers or other parts of aviation heritage that badly need the cash.
OOPs!!!! 😮 Good point Pagen, but i’m sure you know what i mean….
I Wish the Jerries would get over their Swastika issues and be allowed to use them in historical context. Ruins an otherwise fine machine…..
I Hope Geoff won’t mind me posting the picture but I’ve recently brought one of his Lancaster control wheels and as the saying goes ‘Give credit where credit is due’ It is superb and I’d recommend them to anyone that is looking for one, as they are a fraction of the cost of an original.
Thumbs up from me.
I’m in the legion and i want us to keep it!!!!!!!!!! No one asked me:(
Shouldnt it be down to the members to decide??
