Fear is what these terrorists and anarchists want to inflict and succeed they do with some of the public.
I lived, worked every day through the IRA bombings of Central London, the real threat to one of my company sites by the Iranians during the first Gulf war (none of us could gather together except at work, none flew together on the same business flight, etc), and then 3 horrible years spent in Sri Lanka sorting out the issues following my mum’s murder in the heart of the capital which was bristling with twitchy security forces and checkpoints due to the ever present serious LTTE threat.

No I never flinch but obviously stay alert and informed but do not stop being productive.

I’d like those that think that I am an armchair critic to consider how many of you have worked under the same conditions and seen as I have the terror in the eyes of innocent people suppressed by terrorists (as I often did in the public areas of Colombo)

No, it’s called revisionism and is generally conducted by those who weren’t there and often have a particular axe to grind. Which, in the case of nJayM, could be related to his regular mentions of the LTTE.

“Axe to grind” my foot, why not ask the majority of Sinhalese and peaceful Tamil people in Sri Lanka about what 30 years of terror under LTTE pressure has done to their economy?

The LTTE are included since they were the first International terrorist group to bring in suicide bombing (sans Kamikaze pilots from Japan in WWII).
The LTTE front and fund as much International Terrorism and serious crime all over the world that you and I don’t even have an inkling on, and have ‘drip feed’ fund raising in most European countries. ‘Drip feed’ implying ‘protection money’ paid by weak/frightened people of Tamil origin who run businesses as Tamils and who pay to stay ‘afloat’.
Case in point for every Swiss Franc earned and deposited in a certain bank in Switzerland by most Tamils, a Sri Lankan Rupee was credited to the LTTE funds in Sri Lanka at the same bank.
The LTTE has received support both in safety, security and publicity while being proscribed by the UK along with anti Sri Lankan government media propaganda recently by Channel 4 (with some phone video clips but no concrete evidence for accusations).
The LTTE are included because they have caused relatively more damage to a little island with International complacency towards their fund raising activities than much larger terrorist groups have managed to inflict.
Terror groups e.g. the LTTE use democracy to their advantage which is what the Norwegian suspect has done.

Okay hypothetical only – bomb/s go off in Central London…..

Okay hypothetical only – bomb/s go off in Central London…..

A gunman starts firing indiscriminately at the public at Hampton Court on a hot summers days.

    Your family are killed outright.

It took the Police or any authorities 90 minutes to get to Hampton Court to suppress the gunman, because the authorities were concentrating on the bomb/s in Central London.

    How would you feel?

And would this happen in the UK now (prior to Friday 22 July 2011) that we have learned some bitter lessons on how terrorism operates?

I have great personal affinities for Norway – family

I have great personal affinities for Norway – family and at no stage wish to cast dispersions against them but the diversion worked in a big way is all I can say.

Even the most peaceful of nations (a status which Norway had reached) must be ready for anarchists hitting at several locations.

I feel all of Europe must learn from this and work with Europol, locally responsible media, judiciary, armed and law enforcement forces and responsible citizens to identify any other suspicious behaviour amongst our European populations that could de-stabilise a country or many countries.

As responsible citizens we all have a duty to be part of the biggest ‘neighbourhood watch’ scheme – not a witch hunt mind you.

In the list of International Autocrats I posted before weren’t they all like this?

In the list of International Autocrats I posted before weren’t they all like this?
Thinking of themselves as ultra superior, worthy of hero worship tending to martyrdom and enjoying the excesses of a materialistic world.

These are the delusions as opposed to mental illness they inflict on themselves.

Is anybody able to get accurate figures for output from already deployed wind farms?

Is anybody able to get accurate figures for output from already deployed wind farms?

UK will be adequate as that is what we should be considering.

    Useful data could be –
    Location,
    Number of turbines
    Period in full operation
    Mean time before failures
Output for entire period, as well as more granular, ie monthly
Weather patterns in location e.g. average wind velocity for same periods

‘Mentally Ill’ is an escape clause (usage of English) we give …

‘Mentally Ill’ is an escape clause (usage of English) we give when we wish to stereotype individuals who fall out with the standard deviation curve of the majority behaviour.

It is a hopeless phrase and provides leniency.

This suspect is hardly ‘mentally ill’ but is a firm believer in his ‘normal’ behaviour and thoughts, they just so happen to be extremely different to the majority human race.

If this guy is guilty after the forensics finish with the bullets in the corpses and the firearms they originated from, as being those he was carrying when arrested, then he should initially be tried and sentenced. That would be for all the murders caused by shooting on Utoeya island.

Following which/in parallel evidence gathered regarding the bombs in the city of Oslo and his involvement if any in it (innocent until proven guilty) and charges pressed against those guilty followed by an independent trial.

“Mentally Ill” is not a get out clause in my opinion for cold calculating murderers.

The geography is accepted as harsh but as the crow flies 20 miles is 20 miles from Oslo.
Minutes by police or service ‘chopper’.
Most of those kids had mobiles and would have been calling or sending text messages once they realised what was happening. Their families knew where they were and would have been bombarding the police with alerts, so it is back to realising that the huge diversion in Oslo caused delays that all nations must learn from.

“Where the smoke is visible isn’t the only place where ‘fire’ can erupt”.
