Loads are always low when a new route takes off. It has only been operating for 3 weeks and will pick up as time ticks by.

Load factors (which I am responsible for monitoring) and new route information are commercially sensitive and therefore I am not at liberty to discuss. Sorry. Thank you for taking an interest in Monarch Scheduled though.

I’m the Economic Planning Analyst for Monarch Airlines, responsible for the economic analysis of the flying programme (how much everything costs to operate, route costings, aircraft, passenger and airport costs, scheduled services bookings analysis etc)

Dean (Dusseldwarf) and I were orginally looking at flying BMI ex LHR to MAN and back on the 10th July for the visit (£51 rtn inc. tax each).
That would have meant Dean and I being on the same flight as Jay330…….but alas, that won’t be happening.

Plus, I now cannot take the day off work (10th July) as I have alot of Monarch Scheduled administration to set up ready for my four days of leave!

My parents landed at Gerona the night before the BY crash.

I’ve only been on one BY B757 and that was G-BYAF way back in July 1995 BHX-PMI-BHX.

Monarch A321 would be G-MARA today.

    Monarch A321 G-OZBB was doing the MAN-RHO-BHX-RHO-MAN ‘W’ pattern.

The Monarch A321’s are primarily deployed at the ZB UK bases i.e. LTN, MAN and LGW, due to them being in the new colours (‘BE, ‘BF and ‘BG that is).
So you are likely to see OJEG and MARA as the BHX A321s this summer.
(A330 can be seen on a Thursday doing the SFB flight, B757 can be seen on a Saturday doing the Malaga and you will see the A320 on a Wednesday).

B757s G-MONC and G-MONE are both new colours and as such are dedicated to flying the B757 ZB routes this summer. They have both been re-configured into 219Y seating (from 235Y). You can pay a weening bit more to have the extra legroom on these B757 ZB flights, as some seats have gone from the cabin).

    Hasta luego.

Be warned to expect things to be expensive though. A 500ml of fizzy drink/water is about £1.50 (for example).
Take enough money. They accept Euros in CPH.

Have a great time on our birthdays!

Dusseldwarf and I were at the LHR collectors fair in October last year (LHR Visitors’ Centre).

Concorde took off whilst we were outside in the car park next to the runway. It was breath taking!!!!

The last Dan Air (London) livery has to be one of my all time favourites. Such a shame they are no longer around. What a great airline!

    Cheers for that info EGNM!

Dusseldwarf and I are off to Amsterdam for my birthday on 9th July (for the day). Scandinavia is lovely. You can also pick up some confectionery in Scandinavia with rude British words as the brand name. Not mentioning them though!!

    Monarch are doing some too!

We are the largest ad-hoc flyers.

Apparently, there are 80,000 football supporters going to Seville, but Seville Airport only has about 8 airbridges? Rediculous situation.

The Monarch A330s go to SR Techniks at Zurich for planned maintanence.

Other maintanence work on the A330s is carried out at Monarch Aircraft Engineering hangers at Manchester and London Gatwick.

    My favourite aviation topic…..airline alliances!

I did my honours degree dissertation on this subject.

Don’t forget that Alitalia belong to Skyteam. I was led to believe that KL and AZ don’t get along because of their falling out a couple of years ago?
