Its nice to see the ‘ladies’ at Mountain View – but also a shame at the same time.
An interesting note… many of us did a few double-takes on Friday at YOW as a pristine Tutor rolled in with ferry tanks. Not a civil example but a reactivated CF bird. Later that night I was speaking with a long-time CF Tutor tech from the Snowbirds. He told me they have about 20 active for the Snowbirds’ use and are continually reactivating more as hacks, etc for use across the country.

hmmm… another potential addition to Vintage Wings on this side of the Pond??? With 5 engines in the ‘package Mr Potter could also contribute to the Canada Aviation museum and help finally get their poor soul into restoration
all I can add… is that plans had been and now I guess are now going ahead to launch the Spit, Hurri and Mustang at 11:46 and open the show both days with them at 12:00, followed by the Hornet on Saturday and the F-16 on Sunday

Excellent news Mike!!!
See everyone there – this one is going to be good!!!

Today’s post is a 2-part… First this rather nice HIP at Abeche this morning.
Unfrtunately its presence was due to the following post
he heh he … he said Beaver…. Why is it we Canucks don’t necesarily find anything perverse in that???
and ssshh…. Kylie was away when Keira was over
oh come on!!….
post # 1… one genuine MiG in US markings, the MiG 21 is Vietnamese People Army Air Force and the Sukhoi is COMPLETELY fake – and a bad fake at that (take it from a professional faker).
we would all love to see the soviet equivalent of the ‘test and eval’ but somehow I don’t think that’s gonna happen.
Lets all get serious people… hopefully (and I’m crossing my fingers) we’re here to share/expand on our knowledge and not continue the dissemination and propogation of fallacies.
MATRA Magic II on wingtips and Israeli Phyton III in underwing pylons
Mirage F-1 JA Ecuador’s Air Force ( F A E )
Ahhh, now I see, thanks for the clarification.
Orginally I was looking at this Anson shot I took at the RCAFM Museum.
The pedals in the picture Contrailjj posted from the CAvM website looks like a close match.
Mike,
just looking both the CAM and RCAFM photos again… I’d never really noticed that the rudder pedals are different – two different designs left seat and right seat…

Umm.. I’m no expert but my 1954 Hawker was painted with zinc chromate too, so that is no indication of the country of origin!
Consider yourself corrected! :p
Roy.
And so I shall…
Thats what I get for staying up all hours and not paying attention to what I’m saying (typing)…
Looks like I’ll have to punnish myself with another pint or two for that one.
JJ
I wondered that myself – the pic I posted is the Annie in the Canada Aviation Museum collection. Other interior shots I’ve seen show the pedals’ structure to be more tubular and square.
Thank you mm2000… that’s the best shot of the grey Iraqi scheme I’ve seen yet!
HOW did I miss this thread?!?!?
a thread dedicated to what is most likely THE SEXIEST aircaft the world has ever seen…?!?!?!?
ahhhh… please … more, more … the gorgeous F.1 at Archangel 05 (yellow and flag) is enough to stop the heart, and add in a few late South Africans… this is pure heaven
but I do have to question the Ecuadoran with ‘Magic’ on the tips and ‘winders underwing…
but please, please… MORE!!!! I heve admired this fine madamoiselle from a distance my entire life… she is truely THE beauty queen of the fast-jet world (but don’t tell my other mistress, the ‘104)
No offence taken my friend… positive criticism always welcome (just as long as I don’t have to visit Grafton again)
let me know the favoured colours and squadron and there could be some profile art in store… (hint, hint)
JJ
No specific answer here – but with regard to the first two shots.. ignoring the pale blue… the underlying Chromate Yellow puts the manufacturer in the US. (but I could stand corrected)…
The blue is stangely similar to the interior blue on Soviet equipment – I have an armament panel from a MiG-21 in almost the same colour.
Your latter ones look like Anson pedals… see attached.
