I don’t think you understand how difficult and complex a recovery of this nature is. Problems like this are normal occurances. I would move on if I were you.

The Whitley used aluminium instrument screws, Spitfire I used stainless.

It’s a modern jet – the honeycomb construction gives it away

Yup – oil/water separating tank. Used on many ww2 raf aircraft
