The penultimate shot ! just supurb, such imagination ! Thank you. Keith.
kev35, I think you are on the right track, Shaibah is mentioned in the notes with these photos often ! A little something for yourself and all of the other Knowledgeable persons here to discuss ?
I am still confused about the underwing markings ?
Keith.
PHOTO 1.
Yes, I would like to make this collection more public, but must also respect the fact that it is a part of someones personal history !
Having said that, there was a fantastic photo of a biplane (fighter type) with its nose buried in sand (desert) ? With both what looked like RAF roundels(sp) and swasticas on the lower wing ???
confused !
Keith Newsome.
John Aeroclub, Thank you for that input, love the ‘for now’ Keith.
kev35, Thank you too, this era is way beyond my knowledge level, but I knew you guys out there would know something !
Maybe soon I will be able to post some pics from this collection ?
Best regards Keith Newsome.
‘Health and Efficiancy’ mentioned this one years ago ! possibly 1958 ?

Fifth from bottom ? Could that be the remains of a very long ‘On Mark Maaaaaarksman’ ? Keith.

There is an aviation link ! This is called ‘over heathrow’
Yes guys, my excuse is I was driving, McDonalds take away in my lap, mobile phone in one hand, camera in other hand, and totaly concentrating on the girl in the mondeo in front ! so bum photo ! Keith.
Supurb ! Would that be miss Pratt and miss Whitley on the DC 6 wing ?

Thats a piece of good news, thank you for posting that Peter.
I am so sorry to see the pics of a crashed York, being a firm Yorkist ! since my youth (see avitar).
I have just looked in ‘Aviation Safety Network’ at the hull losses and find there were no less than seven in Canada in the mid 50’s.
Construction of the DEW line radar was tough ! these people were fighting against almost impossibe conditions, not just the weather.
Incidents of hull losses only, I assume there would have been many more unrecorded incidents ?

In all of these incidents, although one is too many, loss of life was small.

Peter, An account on a n other forum says she will be at Farnborough for two weeks !
Keith. umph !
60 years ago this year there was ‘The Berlin Airlift’, I think it still holds some records for tonnage delivered, aircraft sorties, etc.
UK plc played a very important part in this, both civil and military, there is a small amount of footage out there, must be more unseen, played a large part in establishing some post war British independant airlines, and established a few real British characters ?
That for me would make a very good subject !
Keith Newsome.
avion ancien,The photo was taken by Colin Laurie at Scone (Perth), in the 1960’s, sorry thats all the info I have !
Keith.
G-ORDY, Thank you for that very quick update to my education, I can put a name to the photo ! Back to Hawks etc. Keith.
