Please excuse my total lack of knowledge of 1930’s aircraft recognition, is this a Miles Hawk ???? If not What is it ?????? please. Keith.

2009 airshow views ? Would like to see :-
more like this ….

and less like this ….

Old Shuck. thank you, I can’t realy say where these photos were taken as I think they are from a few prints I bought years ago at an aerojumble or boot sale, I did visit Skyways hangars at Stansted, usualy as a passenger in the British Rail parcel delivery Scammel scarab articulated lorry !!! maybe 55 years ago aged 5 or 6 !!!
I have this shot of Yorks which seems to be the same place I think ?
I am sure there will be someone along soon who can help.
Keith.

Sexy or not ? In my opinion the most sexy piston engined aircraft ever ? Don’t know where I got this photo from ! could be Bovingdon or Blackbush ? Certainly a part of my youth at Stansted were these beauties with Skyways, always remember the huge length of the, slightly off set from centre, nose wheel leg, look at the steps not quite reaching the doorstep ?
This is a mere L-749A but still beautiful in my humble opinion ! Keith.

XW268 photos.
Hi Flightpath, This seems spooky to me, at the time of your post of yesterday, I was at City of Norwich Museum taking pictures of the aircraft etc !!!! XW268 arrived there during May 2008, from what I gather very little work has taken place since, but at least it still exists ! although missing a few parts ! It does not show much on their wesite as I think it is privately owned ? These may not be the pics you wanted to see, but they are very current ! Keith.

Wow, Thank you to all who replied, I am still amazed at the level of knowledge out there ! all of those fantastic reply’s to a very small question !
My first mistake was to assume the modification was done during the production run, well now with your knowledge, I see it was a later mod in the days when tail draggers were not so available !
Forever impressed. Keith.
Sorry for the delay in answering, Went to CNAM today, firstly the Nipper frame is still there, and under cover, in the ‘new’ cockpit display area.
Secondly I asked the friendly staff about it’s ID, none of the two people I spoke with had any idea ! It was donated some time ago by a former lecturer with KLM Engineering upon his retirement.
Could not get close enough to gleen any info as the new poly tunnel building is not open yet, just pocked my camera lens through a gap (with permission).
Aparently there is talk of making a wing and other parts, but that is way off.
Hope this helps a little. Keith.

DaveF86, Don’t know much, it was taken at Turnhouse in the 60’s, after they had finished active service, according to Colin they used to turn up to give local Teritorial Army mock targets for gunnery practise !

Nice one Rob, all moving parts on display ! Well done ! Keith.
