G-CVIX, Hope you don’t mind if I borrow your thread title to post a few pics from Lowestoft, same scenario, different players, opposite side of country.
    Keith.

Thanks for all those nice comments and advice, every little helps !
Yes I put £2 in the bucket, and witnessed a lot of people contributing more ! Am very confused with the “official facts” 425,000 people over 2 days, but only £80,000 in donations ? whilst this was £20,000 up on last years contributions, assuming everbody contributed the suggested minimum of £1, that leaves 345,000 people making no donation !!!! All who donated got this sticker, and I seem to have seen very few people without one ???? Keith.

Sorry Dave G, only just checked back, I used my Nikon D40x with a very cheap Nikon 70 – 300 lens, which is not auto focus and hard work, must replace that next. Keith.

Me again, Just heard on the local tv news that voluntary contributions to Lowestoft Air Festival, this year, were £80,000 up by £20,000 from last year !
This must be good news for the future of this event. Keith.

Thank you all for your insight into displaying is sea mist etc, I was not moaning about the spit / hurri not displaying, just could not remember the exact reasons given !
To the future, it is looking good for 2009, below are a few quotes taken from the Eastern Daly Press. Keith.

An estimated 445,000 people lined the beach and seafront over the two days of the 12th festival to enjoy displays by the Red Arrows, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the Eurofighter Typhoon.

The wing-walkers of Team Guinot and aerobatics from the Blades display team wowed the thousands who headed to the seafront in hot weather yesterday.

Show managing director Paul Bayfield said this summer’s best-ever turnout, with about 225,000 people visiting yesterday, would secure the future of the event. “It will go ahead in 2009 without question. Looking along the seafront seeing all these people is amazing. They are all enjoying themselves, and it makes me realise what an important event this is for everybody in the town – it’s really quite humbling,” he added.

Paddy R, Thank you for that comment, but I must say of 634 shots taken on the day, 2Gb of memory card, I have saved only 90 ! So your camera is possibly as good as mine ! The main difference could be the operator of the equipment !!! Cheers Keith.

Multivac, No you did not doze off and miss the spit / hurri display on Thursday, there wasn’t one !
When BBMF arrived they did a flypast with the Lancaster and then, according to the commentator, had to disappear because the weather was not suitable ! something about too much sea mist ????
At least the Lancaster did us proud ! Oh and the Vulcan, Oh and the Typhoon, Oh and every body else involved ! Thank you to all. Keith.

Just seen the local Anglia News on tv, another few shots from Lowestoft, the reds and lanc today, A local council official said they have estimated yesterdays attendance at 220,000 and todays at 225,000, certainly the largest ever, as I asked on the other 558 thread, does the vulcan have an effect ? must add into this equasion the supurb weather we have here at the moment 28 deg C today.
As for the contribution buckets, well I entered £2 yesterday, one for Lowestoft and one for 558 ! they guy in front of me entered £5 note and I overheard a discussion between others who it seemed had also donated a lot more than the minimum, so its not all bad news !
Posted 3 pics in the other 558 thread last night, just 3 of 634 taken, unfortuneatly it seems most of these are of very low quality !!!! Keith

Newforest, I know little of the history of this one, there are many, many 146 / RJ’s cycled through Norwich, either with KLM UK engineering or Air Livery, all I can tell you is she left with call sign “sunshine 100”.

Bristol Rob, Thank you ! One day I would love to be at your standard !

cal900, All of these were from 27 end of the runway, in a very small road in the Catton area of Norwich (easy to get to) ! the pic below is from this road looking out from the airport, and the lighting directly in front is the 1000ft marker bar, that is 1000ft from touchdown, some nice underside shots are available from here !
Thank you all for your comments. Keith.
