bazv, I too am amazed at the level of knowledge out there ! And so impressed with the responce to these photo’s that I have been so lucky to have been allowed to post, I wonder if there are as many collections such as this out there, hidden away in lofts etc, possibly owned by people who have no idea of the historical value of what they may own ????
Keith.
bazv, Mark12, Thanks, I must have lived through those years with my eyes and ears closed ! Although the photos of a Sunderland on the Thames seems to ring a little bell somewhere in my head ?
HAPPY CHRISTMAS to everybody ! 2008 has been good, lets make 2009 even better !
Keith.

Some talk within this thread about the slipway at Seletar ? Would this photo from 1953 be of any help ?
Keith.

Anark, Yes I think that would be a very impressive growl ! or is there a better word to describe this scene ? Although I was 5 years old at the time of the coronation, I don’t think I have ever seen, or heard, a Sunderland !
Meanwhile a look down at their base !
PHOTO 73.
Yes to Singapore, and I think yes to valletas bringing up the rear, must admit that I didn’t see them untill JDK pointed them out …. ooops
PHOTO 71A.
Another called flying over Singapore Airport.
PHOTO 72.
JDK, You are so on the ball ! I also would like to know what the aircraft in the background are ?????
Good night !
Keith.
And before bed tonight, may I offer you this view of a coronation flypast, 1953 obviously, but where ?
PHOTO 71.
Thank you for that John, another one solved !
Having better access now I am going back a little trying to answer some earlier questions ?
Photo 11 and photo 13, are indeed the same aircraft L1414, isn’t it so good to be able to scan at hi res ?
And in answer to an earlier question of yours about photo 2, I can now confirm that the Hawker Fury behind the Hendon is K8235 ! so close to photo 32 ? see below …..

Meanwhile another pair that caught my eye, from the same period,
‘ C flight, Bahrein’
PHOTO 69.
And ‘Ernie was hurt’ (a little).
PHOTO 70.
John, It’s so nice to have it all here, the photo is amongst 4 on one page titled ‘taken from the roof of dining hall June 1935’
The same page contains photo 67 ?
John Aeroclub, For you ! Have just arrived home with an armfull of photo albums !!!!! Below is my first attemp at scaning for detail ? Rather hope this is the photo you wanted to see ? and there is enough detail for you, thank you once again for all of your input, there is more to come ???
Keith.
PHOTO 68A.
Would another avenue to search be British motorcycle restoration websites, BSA, Triumph, Royal Enfield, Vincent, etc ….. I have no idea if the size may be the limiting factor ?
Keith.
Yes, point taken John, Will speak tomorrow to see what can be done with the future photo’s.
Keith.
Thanks people, another theory crashes !
Well as to more photos, so far you have seen all I have ! But following a meeting with my my colleague last evening, more have been discovered ! don’t know any more at the moment, except that they contain Sunderland and an unidentified Lancaster ????
watch this space !!!
Keith.
