Tillerman, Thank you for bringing that to our attention ! Supurb and sad at the same time, the demise of an airfield that has played such an important part in the history of that city ! but I supose we must move on ????
Keith.
Sorry John , this photo is a ‘one of’ in the collection, so cannot help with a serial, but as we have already found within this thread, you cannot always believe what you read below a photograph ! Is this not so exciting ! Keith.
Hi John, It is recorded below the photo as ‘Vickers Valencia’ which I have also seen as ‘Vickers Valentia’ ? I think they are all related ! lots of updates to one airframe ? I am sure someone will be along very soon to ‘sort it’ ?
Keith.
How about this, labelled, ‘the duty vic’ ! what’s that mean ? Vickers ? Keith.

G-ASKK still being cared for at City of Norwich Aviation Museum. Keith.

pagen01, very good question, as the person has passed away, I suppose a definate answer will be difficult, good piece of lateral thinking there ! on the same note I have a collection of photos from 50’s and 60’s civil airliners (my particular interest) but I didn’t own a camera untill the late 70’s !
I think if i can get to see the albums again I will look for any evidence of this.
Going back to John Aeroclubs supurb winkling out information about this “meeting at Wittering” as a big thank you to him another shot of the same, I think proof that this was no ordinary ‘day in the life’
This one I rated as ‘worth saving for publication’ ???? Keith.

To quote an unknown person “you ain’t seen nothing yet” (or was that a song by Bad Company) ?
I am realy enjoying my part in all of this, just sitting back posting a photo and watching all of you knowledgeable people putting so many small pieces into the jigsaw !
I can be of very little help with this, sorry.
The reason for my quote above is that all of the photo’s posted so far from this collection are by no means the best, there are some which, IMHO are supurb, and of course some not very good at all.
As an example, I have others of the HP 42, one of which is close up nose, wing roots and engines etc, I have compared this with the best in British Airways Museum on line photos and I think the one I have access to wins hands down !
As far as the photographer is concerned I know very little, will have to be a little more inquisitive with my colleague who allowed me this access.
His Grand Uncle was with 84 Squadron, Squadron Leader, ended his career flying in Mosquito’s, whether flying or nav or photography ??? I rather suspected photography when I first saw the collection, judging by the quality and subject !
So far I have 75 scans which is well under half of the total, I rather hope I will get acess to more at a later date.
Those I have at the moment cover from mid 30’s up to jets, hunter, canberra, vulcan, even into colour, as I have said earlier, a lot of close up photos seem to have no markings etc.
Keith Newsome.
John, Re the blenheim, this is just one of many in this collection with no ID on the aircraft, I wonder would they have been sensored ?
I will post this one on AIX, hoping to get a location, which may be of help ?
Keith.
Wow ! Yes I see what you mean about dress ! I seem to have a habit of overlooking the obvious ! The hangar looks very clean and clinical ! your theory sound good to me, this guy seems to have had an interesting career !
Keith.
Or we could have another ‘where is this’ photo ?
PHOTO 11.
Next we have two photos of (I think) of the same aircraft, possibly at Shaibah ?
