The Stockwell incident seems to have been handled very well so far, They clearly saw a threat and had to eliminate the threat, Sadly there is only one way to do that with a suspected suicide bomber and we all know that, Who knows what would have happened if they had not shot him.
I would not normally agree with a “Shoot to Kill” policy but in effect we are at War now and that changes everything and i support whatever means is needed to protect us all.
I hope everyone supports the police as their actions are to protect us.

I was at work today had just arrived when this all started to happen and felt complete shock but absolute determination to get people home. The public have been overall great today from what i saw and i feel Londoners and her visitors are coping pretty well really, Theres no comfort in the fact the attacks this time failed but at least this time everybody went home alive.
Lets be strong people and show these bast*rds that we are strong and will not back down.

I remember a incident involing a Phantom at Biggin Hill where is burst a tyre too, Never seen any other Aircraft do it.
Hope it did not damage to the Sea hawk, As to the Sea Vixen i saw her at Southend and know she is booked for Biggin Hill, So shes still getting out and about.

Flying is definitely the safest form of transport but as with all transports accidents do happen they are rare but due to the nature of Aircraft they are normally fatal and can involve a high amount of casualties.
You should not include Aircraft accidents involving any of the following Airshow/Airdisplay Aircraft, Light Aircraft and Military and you will see the figure is really small your safer at 34,000 feet than you are at ground level.
Its fair to say flying is safe, Its crashing that is dangerous and best avoided,
But seriously crossing the road is probably more risky.

I agree Moggy, The whole idea of Aircraft sitting gathering dust in some building somewhere does not so much appeal to me, However i do believe that if possible one of every type should be preserved this way for the future.
As has been touched on here a fire in a Collection will destroy more Airframes than any accident and this is worth remembering, Fires happen at times no matter what you do to prevent them.
Yes if it is a original and last of its type maybe its should not be flown, But all the same if we are not the owner of this Aircraft then it has NOTHING to do with us what the owner does.
The reality of the Warbird movement is they promote a lot of history for people who would not go and see a Aircraft gathering dust somewhere, I myself when i was 8 was truelly captivated by Ray Hanna in MH434 at Biggin Hill, If Ray had not been flying that day i probably would not be intrested as much as i am in the Warbird movement, How many other people have similar stories?, Im guessing Plenty.
The fact that we have Warbirds flying now is a great tool for teaching History and for getting people intrested in Aviation, They are needed and also help the museums and collections to exist, I do not see how you can have one without the other, Flying Warbirds promote museums, And musuems help keep Warbirds flying.

1) A “New” Aircraft in RAF service got out of shape for whatever reason.
2)The pilot managed to recover the Aircraft and fly to a safe height.
3)He was later allowed to do his display again later and satisfied the CAA
4)Some stunning photo’s hit the net and a huge debated started
5)Nobody was hurt or killed or broke a nail(Unless of course by typing on the pc, The pilot can not be blamed for that)
6)The Mod will do some form of investigation into the incident.
The rest is just hearsay and i feel could be damaging to Airshows in general, Is there really anymore to say on the subject? I’m thinking not.

the pilot got very ‘out of shape’ during his display.
I would say he fell off the top of a loop but then I’d get a load of experts telling me what he did was intentional.
I saw it and I didn’t like it one bit.

I can imagine as i think we call all remember a bad outcome from losing it in a loop.
As to Me109s i have heard a lot of stories about this 30% figure but was never convinced it was true, They are clearly a hand full to take off and land and much take a lot of skill from the pilot, And even then it may bite you.
The record of Me109s and Buchons as Warbirds is not at all good really and “Red 7” has now been added to the accident list.
I hope she will fly again, I see her as a Buchon with a Db engine but thats still a rare bird and hopefully worthy of restoration.

Makes me think of a Bullseye quote when i think of this Aircraft “Lets see what you would of won”. We all know the story and the fact that it should have been a British person who went supersonic first, But as they say the rest is history.
I can’t say nothing of the Man but just because he went supersonic and has been a hero for many does not make him a clever man with the women, But does make him a target for a Money grabber, Thats life though.

3) Buy a holiday home somewhere in Spain or Scotland and fit a recording studio so my mate has somewhere for his band and a can try and turn something i have wrote into music too.

duxfordhawkNot overheard but for me the highlight of the show – a commentator with some idea what he’s talking about. I refer to Bernard Chabert, what a rtefreshing change.
I agree he was a refreshing change and was great to listen to, I must admit at first i had to “Tune” my ears in a little to him as he pronounced words differently at times. You could tell how much of a fan he was of the Warbirds and his enthusiasm came through at every moment, He reminded me of Ron David at Biggin Hill. Both “Feel” what they are commentating on and really love it.
