Dux – good luck for the future: it will be hard but you know in yourself it will be worth it.

Thanks Flood, I am not known for doing anything easy to be honest.
In Lena i have found a real diamond and any struggles will be worth it as you say.

You want my answer, here it is. You say you have a problem with people who “beg off the state when they should be working”. Do you know what it is like to have to “beg off the state”?
I have no option but to “beg off the state” because Blair and all the other parties have effectively written off the over 25s. If you are unemployed and unfortunate enough to be over 25, then there is absolutely NO meaningful job training available to you whatsoever. OK, there is the New Deal, but for under 25s (who only have to be unemployed for 6 months before they qualify for this scheme) there is a training allowance paid for them to work towards a recognised qualification. The New Deal for over 25s (who have to be unemployed for 18 months to qualify, if that’s not discrimination then I don’t know what is) does not provide any money for training towards a qualification because it is assumed that all over 25s have the necessary experience. If you don’t have the relevant experience there is nothing available to you are you are on the scrapheap my friend.
The government says we need immigrants to fill the jobs caused by a skills shortage. If there is such a skills shortage, then why not train the over 25s to do this work? I want nothing more than to have a job, earn my own money and get off the bloody dole, but until this legalised age discrimination is outlawed then how the hell can I?
Also, I am sick of hearing about how individuals who have been granted asylum in this country are then plotting terror attacks against us because they hate the west. If they hate the west so much then why do they insist on coming here? No one forces them to live here.
In West yorkshire last week, a woman was denied hydrotherapy treatment because she was not Asian. Why should the British people be expected to tolerate such racism against us? If this had been the other way round and someone Asian had been denied this treatment on the grounds of race, then there would have been all hell on.
A few years ago, a woman died waiting for treatment at a Yorkshire hospital. Her operation for cancer was cancelled about five times because the hospital kept saying they had no available beds, but the same hospital was able to provide an intensive care bed, and treatment for, a Kosovan terrorist. Why should British people have to wait behind an import for medical treatment?
The goverment recently pledged hundreds of millions of taxpayers money to the tsunami appeal, but hospitals have to close departments and cancel operations because of lack of funds. If hundreds of millions is available for Indonesia, why isn’t it available for the NHS? And why wasn’t it available for the residents of Boscastle when their village was washed away by floods?
Why should schoolchildren be told they cannot celebrate Christmas because it might offend Muslims? If you went to a Muslim country the locals would not cancel their religious festivals because they might be offensive to Christians.
Why is there such an uproar about flying the Union Jack? If foreigners don’t like the sight of the flag then why don’t they go somewhere whose flag suits their requirements?
Why should scum like Abu Hamza be allowed to have streets closed off, and police protection, to incite hatred against Christians, Jews, Hindus, the west and anyone else who does not suit him? If that was someone British saying the same stuff about Islam and Arabs they would soon be arrested and charged with some offence or other.
Why should the British taxpayer have to pay millions for supporting asylum seekers when our pensioners have to sell their homes to fund care?
Why should criminals be able to sue victims of crime?
Those are my comments. I hope they meet with your approval, but if not, I really couldn’t give a damn. People might find my views unpalatable, but to be honest I find the views of left wingers, do gooders and Amnesty International supporters even more unpalatable.
Intresting mix of things you thrown up there comet, Some i can agree with some i can not. Some are really are bigotry.
Firstly i have been unemployed twice in my life and know the feeling of writing letter and appling for jobs week in week out and getting refused, I also remember the queue every two weeks to sign my name to get my money, I admit a large part of the reason i was jobless is a qualified as a Engineer and wanted to use this skill if i had lowered my aim i probably would have got a job easier, My Ex girlfriend is a prime example of this she has no particular qualifications or skills as such but managed to get 4 job offers in as many weeks after she came off sickpay due to ill health, Admittedly this is in Croydon not Yorkshire, She was 27 at the time.
Terrorism and immigration a intresting one as from what i have seen many of those who have been arrested for so called plots are actially born and bred in Britain and how short our memories are reguarding the IRA who often were recruiting English people as well as Irish to carry out there attacks, The terror situation is not a good one but its not all down to immigration.
The whole of the Western World pledged money for the Tsunami and i am told that the Government keeps such funds for Emergencies like these.
Yes Abu Hamza is trouble and incites trouble thats why so much Police time and money is spent on him, Do you think the Police or Goverment want that? I think not.
The thing you say about Muslims and Christmas at school is sadly a case of extreme P.C but if you talk to most muslims they have no problem with Christmas in schools etc and understand we are a Christian country, Its not normally the Muslims who complain on this.
Can’t comment on the Hospital situation i lost my father through MRSA but it has nothing to do with immigration. The fact is that UK based people are not going in to nursing so much thats why we have to employ from abroad and usually we get very good staff by doing so, I can not fault how my Dad was treated in his time in Hospital i do fault the fact he got MRSA.
I pose a question to you though Lena will come here and do any LEGAL job whether it be cleaning or something alike until she can get her Qualification so she can teach here and help our future children with Languages etc, She will be a tax payer as i am and a good citizen, Not costing the country a penny, Is this wrong?

THURSDAY
You should be out voting on thursday, not enjoying yourselfs….
YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU….
The reason i want to go Duxford is to get away from the vote and London for the day.
I predict lots of civil unrest if the Immigration issue isnt bought under control. Don’t get me wrong I welcome people who can contribute, my close circle of friends have origins from all over the world but its the ones who sneek in and don’t ‘play the game’ who cause the most trouble.
Theres a bloke ‘eastern european’ who cleans windows in our street. Needless to say he in no way ‘contributes’ to our system. (dont worry i asked. Hes not even insured).
Sadly I dont feel we are a multi-cultural society. Watch the activity this year surrounding VE Day, it will be interesting to see what sort of coverage it gets. Sadly I feel it will be low key…incase we offend anyone 🙁
I fear unrest too, And see some politicians seem want this and it will stir up such things through the press etc, Its all really depressing.
Yes it is the people who come in through the “Back Door” as it were that cause a lot of problems, But then hard working people get tarnished by this too,.
As to the window cleaner i can not help but think the people who pay him to clean their windows are also at fault.
I know some people think Lena is dating me to just come to the UK this annoys me as we had discussed me moving to Belarus but with my lack of knowledge of Russian i would be useless there, Lena wants to be with me wherever that maybe and build a life together through hard work and effort(word often forgot about these days).
All what i have heard about immigration recently and the new measures they plan seem to do very little to stop bogus cases and will probably stop real cases more often, We rely on Oversea’s staff in many areas including Nursing and now teaching too, We benefit from this and its my bet we could not cope without them.

Nice photo’s.
If I go to Duxford on Thursday, is there any chance of seeing something fly ?
I am considering going thursday too, Not sure if anythng will fly but i fancy taking my camera for its first airshow/airfield trip of 2005.
duxfordhawk – people’s opinions are often based on personal experiences, or the experiences of those they know. The experiences many of us have had with immigrants have been bad; ask many people in Norfolk/Suffolk/Northants/Kent who seem to have had the majority of the bad apples dumped on their doorstep. So naturally opinions go against *all* immigration which leads to people playing the race card.
There was an interesting article about immigrants from Poland in The Times last week. We have had over 100,000 come to Britain since April 2004. Fewer than 30 are claiming benefits and most return to Poland having made themselves some decent money or undergone some further education or training here in the UK.
We do not have such luck with some of the other Eastern European immigrants. No doubt if they were all as happy to work and learn as the Poles we wouldn’t have immigration as such a large issue in this election. The Romanian who produced a knife and threatened me (happily yards away from a policeman he hadn’t spotted) was, I suspect, not one of the industrious and useful contributors to society that people such as your girlfriend would be. But sadly that sort of experience makes headlines a lot more readily than ‘Immigrant works hard and leads quiet life’.
THank for your views Damien i also seen the bad side of immigration in my job but i started to think we got equal scum in our own country born and bred those stories hit the headlines too but are not so controversial i guess.
What worries me is i don’t want see Lena Have a hard time when she is living here.

To the person enquiring about the above subject title,
I am willing to add full facts about the inadvertent flight of XM135 Lightning by Wg. Cdr. W.V.Holden. I am that same person! Taffy Holden, Nantwich, Cheshire
Welcome to the forum.
This story is of Lightning and R.A.F Legend now but at the time it must have been as scary as hell.
I would love to hear the story from your side also and i wonder if you have flown anything else jet wise since.
Ray is 76 this year. Every time I see him he seems as fit as ever, but you can’t go on for ever!
Every time i see Ray display i feel it is such a honour he is a legend and has given us so much entertainment in his years displaying, There is nobody like him in my oppinion.
He has certainly earned a quiet retirement if he chooses one but the fact is he loves to fly and Display, Watching him of the Friday at Biggin Hill last year then again on the sunday were true highlights of 2004 for me and in someways i think of him as so very linked to Biggin Hill as it was in 1982 i first saw him display there me a excitable 8 year old at the time i am now a excitable 31 year old and thank Ray for getting me so in to Warbirds with MH434.
A autobiography seems a great idea and i wish he had some sort of Nighthood too.
On a side note its nice to hear the P-40 has got a good home miss seeing her in Britain but all the same we don’t own this Aircraft we should just enjoy them while we can and thank pilots like Ray for sharing them.
I would say the B-17 too although it seems a little unfair as it was ita armour that took up a lot of its weight and ment had to have smaller bomb load, It did a amazing job in the nightmare job of Daylight bombing, A job the Lancasters and Liberators armours was not so good for.
I was also thinking the Stirling was not so great either, I seem to remember it having a problem with Altitude, Am i right?.
The Mosquito has to be a candidate for the best Bomber.
I found out yesterday that a former colleague of mine, who was highly regarded and well respected here, and who had been a great help to me personally over the last five years, died of liver cancer on Sunday morning just a week after being diagnosed. And today, someone else very dear to me starts their cancer treatment, with no guarantee of success.
Yet at the same time there are lowlife paedophile scumbags who look set to quite happily wreck peoples lives while the courts just sit back and let it happen.
What kind of world have we created?

I know exactly what you mean Steve my sympathies go to you on loss of your friend and my thoughts are with your other friend.
My work collegue has lost her Mum today after she caught what appears to be MRSA today she has gone with her sister to turn off the life support machine, It leaves me in tears just thinking of a Friend going through this.
I lost my father in december 2000 from what appears to have also been MRSA and i am still as bitter as hell now.
It seems to me shed loads of money is spent on making sure the scum of the country live in a life luxury, Either in prison or in houses that we are paying for, Meanwhile its seems nothing much comes from the Governments purse to find cures for cancers etc.
Its a sad world we have here now but do we put up or do we try and do something?.
