I have quiet a love for Hawker Hind and Nimrod also the Gladiator and i confess still love Pitts Specials too.

No apology needed mate i must admit i could not fathom out your voting systems numbers and could not see any numbers that were posts i had sent which confused me,I was fearing a American style election problem 😀 .

Seriously i hope this is not going to ruin a great thread and the great idea that your company would donate a prize and i hope most people posted photo’s to share them more than to win a prize as its been a lot of fun seeing how us with the cheaper end of digital cameras have done compared to the big boy DSLR cameras and many of the results have been great in my view.

I find that I need to remove myself from the office, to go and have a private moment of quiet somewhere else.

Comments floating around over the last few minutes (“Oh, we forgot about 11:00…”) have confirmed my suspicion that the vast majority of people here carried on working and talking, completely oblivious of the moment…….. 🙁 :confused:

I am just thinking how lucky they are to be able to have the chance to be oblivious to the two minutes silence after all if it was not for the men and women who gave everything that moment would not exist now,We must never forget EVER.

Its now emerging that the rail crash on Saturday may have been caused by a suicide,In effect that person if they did commit suicide is also responsible for 6 other deaths that sums up to murder really,This may seem heartless of me to say but i never understand why some people throw themselves in front of trains i always seen it as selfish,You ruin the lives of people who never even know you including the driver of the train(having talked to many i can say they don’t get over it easily and get flashbacks),Also theres the ordinary folk who either witness the horror or get held up by it in delays etc,I understand the depression that leads to wanting to kill yourself but there are other ways if your serious about it that won’t effect strangers.
I am sorry if i have spoke out of turn here but i have worked on the railway for over 6 years and seen the after effects of such incidents so feel a little touchy about it.
My sympathies go to all the families effect by the crash on saturday.

I agree i see it as we are now getting personalities who are all looks and well no personality,Fred and John Peel were much more than that they loved what they were talking about to the point you could also feel there passion and enjoy it also through them,RIP Fred.

Firstly i would like to say i am so sorry for your loss and i do know what your going through with this.
There is not much i can say now to justify why anyone does such a thing but the very modern world and rich country thing can be more a cause than a lot of things in my view.
Let me explain we live in a world that is moving at such a pace and a lot of people have no time for others in reality most of us probably know more about people we know through the net than we know our nieghbours,Many of us live in high pressure situations from work and relationships we have debts and are trying to control,I also think the wall to wall 24 hour TV new also can have a bad effect because things that happen elsewhere in the world are now in your home in moments you can not escape it.
I feel modern life is much more high pressured than any era before it and maybe this is why so many people chose to take there lives.

Some great models here people would post some of mine but they resigned to the loft at my mates doubt they will see day light again.

In short, the G.46 was a postwar trainer. By then, Italy was a republic, so the royal cross and badge on the rudder are anachronistic.
No desert camouflage was ever applied to the Italian G.46 fleet either.
The result is about as realistic as the paintwork on the Australian G.59, or the wacky Frasca conversion in the States. If anyone did the equivalent to a Spit or ‘109, this board would be saturated with protests. But it’s Italian, so nobody even notices. Why, oh why?

I think the why oh why can be answered by the fact that we have got no “Real” Italian warbirds flying so the G46 and G59 are nearest we get and a little like the Buchon situation they end up in colours not becoming to the roles they flew when in service.
Myself i feel lucky to have seen both a G46 and G59 fly and wish more Italian designs were flying now they are a largely neglected nation when it comes to Warbirds.
