I just worry about “new” inexperienced pilots flying these rare aircraft,i know it’s their money but it is everyones heritage.
I also know that without their money these planes would’nt be airworthy but i still worry about lack of hours and experience on type.

I see what you mean but i say good luck to him,With the right training he can gain experience that would allow him to fly safely most stars that have got involved take the safety side of things very seriously and want to be part of the scene and promote the heritage they have bought into,And theres a lot of good pilots to train them in my oppinion.
So i hope he gets to his goal and makes his dream happen and maybe we can get him to bring another spitfire back to the UK.

It’s a pedantry thing. Like how I hate people spelling ‘Airborne’ as ‘Airbourne’. Even our hosts here do it.

I blame Eastbourne for naming there Airshow that myself :D,Seriously i can see why you hate it i hate the american spelling of Colour maybe when can lend the spare “u” from wrongly spelt Airbourne to america then with can have Airborne and colour spelt properly 😀

I Have always thought there should be a memorial somewhere for all pilots we have lost and maybe if Duxford won’t host such a thing the next best thing is a web site where we can post maybe a photo of the lost crew and Aircraft and leave a message of condonance or something.

My first model was a Spitfire (wasn’t everyone’s?). I distinctly remember it was formed in light blue plastic and it never got painted, in fact it probably sported an overall gluey fingerprint colour scheme like most of my early kits 😀

My First was a 1/72 Matchbox Spitfire i believe it was green an white i am sure it never got painted either i must have been 6 or 7 i remember being taken to see a Real Spitfire for the first time at Biggin Hill when i was 8,A certain Ray Hanna was flying her and my intrest in Warbirds and Aviation blossomed that day.
