I have to agree with you there Roobarb. A lovely as the Mk1a is, we have available in the UK enough later mark Merlin powered Spitfires to make this something really exciting.
Hi Martin,
Some more very good pictures from Dx. Well done despite your lens problem.
Just a thought – have you updated your camera with all the new firmware? Canon have just added a load of new Firmware update for just about every camera – you never know that might cure your problem. If you go to the EOS Mag site one of the guys has very kindly added a list of all the upgrades. http://www.eos-magazine-forum.com/showthread.php?18149-new-firmware-added

H Neil,
Thanks for the advice although sadly in this case it turns out the lens is definitely faulty. I am hoping to get a new lens on Wednesday, most likely this one.
It gets a good write up everywhere I have checked and is in my price range so hopefully it will be ideal.
Thank again to everyone for liking the photos too.
Thank You Anna and Sideslip,I am so glad you like them.
Been looking at issues with my lens and seems any aperture above 7.1 and it errors out. Now looking if can get new lens soon as feel lost without one.
Great shots Anna.
Great photos Anna.
Surprisingly the RNHF Swordfish was able to make a flyby in conditions that were getting pretty rough to say the least

She looks in wonderful order, I for one feel sad that the Type-42 is going to be signed to history so soon.

Its been a awful week or so for accidents, I feel for the family and friends of the pilot lost here and in other recent accidents, lets hope this is the last such tragic event of 2013.
This is the only Hispano HA-200 Saeta I have really seen photos of on the net and I was hoping to attend a airshow in Spain this year to see her and some of the other rarities based there.
Terrible news, I have huge amounts of respect for this team and their lovely replicas and 2013 was looking really special for them with 2 new aircraft(one of which I fear is involved here) joining the team.
My sympathies to the pilot’s family and colleagues.
