Thanks for the kind comments, I remember when first saw these cliffs when I was 11 on a school trip to France and the teacher explaining they were the Seven Sisters and not the White cliffs of Dover. Also childhood trips to Eastbourne forever cemented Beachy head in my mind.
Since then I have been drawn to them, and the beauty they have.,I find them awe inspiring and fascinating.
Its also the fact they are eroding so quickly and things like the Birling hotel and cottages are literally on borrowed time, you can’t help but feel nature reclaiming land back from mankind.

Nice to see it sitting on its undercarriage albeit missing a shoe(wheel).
Very very sad news, RIP Peter.
Maybe we can do something to keep his fine collection going in his memory.
A awful tragic accident that could of been so much worse had the helicopter come down on the train or tube lines, thankfully it did not. Have to say the media coverage has been upsetting through making comments that helicopter travel over London is dangerous etc . I would ask them to compare how many people died in road accidents in London today, I honestly can not recall an similar accident in London ever.
I am wary to write this as it DOES NOT prove that there was no lights on the crane or tower when the accident happened but here goes.
When my wife and I were on a train into Waterloo on Christmas Eve my wife noted that there was not and red lights on the crane or tower that evening. It did seem odd at the time but didn’t think anything much of it until heard about the accident.
As to the crane there has definitely been a crane of that sort of height in place when I took this photograph in July although it may not be the same one.

In the end all I can say I feel for the families of those involved a very sad day.
I fear that mass civil unrest will be the only outcome of such a pay rise, The country is in deep troubles the EU is in total crisis the world economy is shrinking fast. We are losing businesses day by day and these greedy s*ds want to have a pay increase.
Everyday they show more and more why they are totally out of touch with reality and the general public, and then they wonder why less and less people vote in elections.
The pay of MPs should represent the people they allegedly represent and should be performance based. So if country is doing well they get an increase if its not they don’t. Anything else is insulting to all of us struggling day to day to make ends meet.
I really do not want to see anymore civil unrest in my life time as my home town still shows the scars of the last lot of unrest. However I am also unwilling to let my country go to ruin due to the greed of those people who were voted into represent us. Its for this reason I would seriously consider peaceful protest and would head to London to voices my views with the masses.
Sadly I think at the rate things are going civil disobedience and civil unrest are pretty much a certainty in the near future,I just hope I am wrong.

This is stupidity the Union flag has been flown peacefully for a few years now and the majority want it to fly it seems. So by taking it away all the efforts of the past for peace are put in jeopardy.
I do not approve of the riots or civil unrest but I can see why unionists are more than a bit peeved at the moment.
Honestly I feel let the union flag fly as it has done for so long and stop this violence before Northern Ireland slides back 30 years.

If it blows it blows, We can not control mother nature.
Potential disaster stories like this were mentioned when Eyafjallajökull erupted, must be a low news day as seems very little has changed. At least I can spell Katla which is a bonus too 😀

Great captures! Tough to pick a favourite, but at first glance the shots of Snafu and MH434 stand out. Wonderful work, love them all.
Thank you, feel been lucky to have had some great photo opportunities in what was a bad summer only became a proper drowned rat at Farnborough and few splashes elsewhere.
Stunning photos Anna, adore the Mustangs taking off and Vulcan at Beechey head ones in particular.
I had the pleasure of meeting him once during my work on the railway. He had travelled from his home to London by public transport and was one of the nicest gentlemen I have ever met.
I was a bit in awe of him and he was a big man in many ways but speaking to him albeit briefly you saw a man with true passion and love for astronomy.
Thanks for the kind comments guys
