I think Britain will win this one, years of planning, a decent design made from scratch rather than pulling the wings off of an aircraft and putting wheels on it.
The USA attempt looks very dodgy to me, whereas the British attempt has a history behind it as will be done as safe as possible with everything tested and retested before the run.
Besides even if the US break the 1000mph barrier they can never be the first to go supersonic as we already done that 😀

I do not care if the people involved are “Celebs” or not, It should not matter at all, abuse is abuse crime is crime. I agree with you CharlieHunt that those who covered up should also be brought to justice and I strongly feel that anything other than a fully open investigation revealing everything that went on then will be unacceptable.
As big as the JS story is, it may only be the tip of a nasty iceberg, but lets let the investigations do the work needed and the police and justice system serve the letter of the law on those who committed crimes.

The cynical side of me also feels the Government are pretty pleased with the JS story as its a diversion from the economic problems and EU disaster we are heading into at the moment.

Does anyone thing that in the long run others in the BBC still living will be brought to justice for abuse they have carried out?.
No matter what comes out on Jimmy Savile none of it can be brought up in court and justice can never be served as he is well and truly dead. Taking away knighthood etc won’t mean a thing to him.

The only way good can come out of this is if ALL abusers and those who allowed abuse within the BBC are brought to justice.
I feel uneasy about the press coverage on this but hold out the hope that truth will come from the police investigations as long as the bigger icture is seen, NOT just looking as JS as ultimately that will just work as a smoke screen to the other things that seem to have gone on.

I have always wanted pre-election manifestos to be legally binding once a Government is voted in. We are their in effect customer they need provide the service they promise, this means in first year of Government changes should start to be seen and polices put in place etc. If they fail to do so they need go back to the electorate and let the country decide. By the next General election the EU may well have split up anyway, I very much doubt it will be in its same form by then and would guess some sort of reform will come in as the EU changes shape or falls apart. The next year or so are going to be a bumpy one to say the least as many countries will probably default on loans etc, send the Euro and EU into freefall. So in reality Cameron is just buying time as he is scared to make a move himself, he knows very well the EU does not work and knows the country will vote against it, however he also knows its a club to be in at the moment and does not want to upset them. One day we will have politcians with the courage to make the bold moves and not feather their own nests, until that time we will have one shower of sh1t after another blaming the Government before it for all the problems. Difficult times need a strong leader we don’t have one anywhere at the moment,do we?.

Lovely photos of a lovely day, I will post a few of mine later too.
I totally agree with Adrian about the Edge 540 too, I winced a few times when engine cut during some parts of the routine, great little display. It certainly lived up to the registration of G-EDGY.

Hope to see more of your photos soon Kev, What camera are you using now?

I wanted to phone up the local radio station and Request “Leaving on a jet plane” by John Denver for him.
I hope his stay in the USA is a very long one, and hope they confiscate his hooks.

I will probably try and get there to see it and photograph it.But I personally would not want to travel on it and feel unsure why anyone would want to build a replica of such a ship involved in such a notorious disaster.

No justice can be served on Jimmy which has always been my point that TV shows like the one that “Revealed” these things serve no real purpose other than to rake up dirt on a person who can not defend themselves in court.

But it seems from this show that its started uncovering a culture of where abuse was not uncommon within the entertainment world, as some of those alleged abusers are probably still very much with us.
So maybe those who stayed so quiet for so long about these things can now redeem themselves and tell the police what they know and not a TV reporter, at least that way people can have their day in court.

I hope a full investigation will be carried out to see uncover anything that did happen around that time, but it must be the police not the press leading this.
