duxfordhawkA friend has recommended the Canon EF-S 18-135 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens as an option for me it comes in around £260 mark and has a decent zoom range for what I will mostly use it for.
I looked at a tonika 12-24 and may in sometime add that to my kit but at around £500 I can not justify that yet, The wife only just about agreeing to £250 despite my charms 😀 .

I already have a 70-300mm lense which I use at airshows etc, But I also do a lot of building photography which is where the 18-55mm has been mainly used. I am working on the theory of having the 18-200 so can get more building details without needing to change lenses but really wonder what pitfalls there are in this?.
Even after looking through reviews online I am still undecided.

duxfordhawkGlad both people on board are Ok, From photos I have seen of aircraft damage looks pretty bad. But ultimately nobody was hurt and thats the important thing.

I totally agree, This was my first visit to this particular event and I have to say I adored it. The chance to get so close to so many of the collections aircraft as well as the demon and Peter Holloway’s Storch was an honour and allowed so many different angle photos.
The flying itself was sublime and the sun lit up the aircraft beautifully, I also feel so glad I finally got to the the Edwardians fly that just added to the magic and forfilled something I had wanted to see for a long time.
Hope todays show goes great the weather looks good, Sadly I am working so can not be there. Safe show people enjoy Old Wardens magic.
duxfordhawkThe information is all there, But I think maybe he meant Blenhiem. But don’t knock the language. My wife is from Belarus and can communicate in 4 different languages and speaks Russian and English fluently.
She teaches English as a foriegn language to students, and I have to say I admire people who can speak other languages especially as many english speakers(including me) barely manage their own correctly.

It would be wrong to speculate on what the cause is at this time, but I do strongly feel that the age thing should not be brought up at this time and will be probably not be factor if he passed all health checks etc.

Not impresed with the black kit, Its just not right, The white one far better and more traditional. As to the team yes they played badly but a win is a win at the end of the day. I feel we will make the semi’s maybe an outside chance at final but we need up our game fast.
I’m nowhere near being a toff, But I do support all the English sides in competition even if they are awful which they often are.

You asked how the rioting/looting could be both organised and opportunistic. It is and was all to do with communication. The rioting and arson was a good cover for those who wanted to steal to supply criminal gangs. Evidence came to light earlier this week that organised gangs were putting their differences to one side in order to take advantage of the situation. Youths interviewed on Sky today said that they ‘knew people that knew people so I got a van.’ In fact they filled the van and then went back for another load. It was also reported earlier in the week that children and youths were being organised and led by adults.
The opportunism was encouraged to act as cover for those engaged in wholesale looting. Whilst the Police Nationwide are chasing people who took the opportunity to steal a pair of trainers, a phone or a tv, others were taking large quantities of high end goods. it would be interesting to be given an idea of the value of property looted. How much went to the opportunist and how much went to the organised gangs?

All of what Kev has written is totally true, From my town of croydon there were several reports of cars and vans collecting the stolen the goods from the area. Also the likes of PCworld,Currys, and Best Buys had people in them for literally hours clearing them out. Organised crime gangs sadly have done extremely well from this event/s. I feel sure this was part of a bigger plan to fund some of the gangs and other crimes.
You could even argue that Croydons arson attacks could of been pre selected targets. The poor Reeves corner building was located near the flyover as well as having trams near it this closed the flyove that night and trams still not able to do full route yet due to track and wire damage. The other 3 main fires were all on London road in West Croydon and have blocked the road since.
I think people have been a little niave thinking its just mindless thuggery behind this, yes part of what on was mindless thugs joining in, But they were probably just bit parts in a bigger show. Sadly I think the police and everyone else became the audience or the victims in the end.

duxfordhawkI am hearing from friends that this morning the violence has spread out to other parts of Croydon. With reports that the Central Parade in New Addington has fire/fires occuring in shops. This is getting worse and worse.
