I would say as a nation we are getting lazier for sure and its on all levels.
Some of this survey did amuse me though, 15% of people surveyed would rather watch the programme that is on than get up and change the channel if the remote control is broken.
I assume the other 85% thought reality TV was worth the effort of getting up to turn it over. But all hope is not lost because I see a money making opportunity here I am going to train this 15% how to correctly throw the remote control so it renders the TV unusable and they won’t even need get up.

As to the 36% who would not run for a bus I have some sympathy as the bus drivers in London never wait for you if you run for them so its a waste of time, Its a bit like the Greyhound with the hare really.

The figure that 73% of us had no energy for sex explains why people are so miserable these days, But does not explain why we have so many single mums clearly at other 27% is getting more than is fair share.

On a darker note it worries me that so many people were too tired to play with their children or to take a pet for a walk, That really is a sad state of affairs. Bonding with your kids can only come through play and reading with them etc, That does not bode well for the next generation, And why buy a dog if you not willing to take it for a walk, Buy a goldfish and then you just need change its water once a week.

Still on a lighter note its nice to see in 2009 that us Brits excel at something so roll on the 2012 lazy bum Olympics with events such as the 10m I need a pee waddle, remote control shot putting,And the grueling 1000minute reality TV watch.

Its a win win situation with anything like this ain’t it. If they don’t find anything the legend or myth remains intact for generations to come. If they find something they would become hugely famous themselves and the next thing you know people are looking for Nessy or the Yetti.

I would not put much money on Mr or MRS Worm showing up myself but we do need these legends.

I would honestly say “Breakfast Club” and “Planes trains and Automobiles” are classics of their time, And if you look at the list of films he done it arguable that he shaped a lot of the humour of the 1980s with films like “National lampoons vacation” etc.

Getting Oscars or Oscar nominations is not necessarily proof of the quality of a film or a director, But it is proof you have “made it” with the establishment. In terms of John Hughes I feel he aimed his films at families with children and teenagers for the most part, Not for everybody all the time but entertaining nevertheless.

Schumacher has had to pull out of his comeback due to a neck injury he suffered in a bike accident in February this year giving him problems.

I’ve never heard of him, but as you listed his films I realise that I should have. Great films, especially FB Day off.

You probably know more of the films he was either director,writer or producer on than you realise.
He was clearly a great talent but one who preferred to be behind the scenes rather than in front of the camera.

We have strange thing in the country that I never quiet understood, Somehow or another some criminals gain a almost cult status and the myth and legend of them far overtakes the truth. Some literally end up as idols and heroes, This seems to particularly occur with 1960s villain’s for some reason, With the Kray’s and the Great train Robbers all being given such status.

With Ronnie Biggs I do wonder if he would be largely forgotten about had he not escaped justice for so long he was one of 15 who took part and to be honest I can only think of 2 others Buster Edwards and Bruce Reynolds.

I would not expect remorse from him after all he lived the high life on the proceeds of the crime and clearly does not blame himself for the drivers death. Crime very much did pay for Ronnie to be honest and top that he has a foot note in British history forever now.

I don’t expect for a minute he will be leaving hospital alive he seems way to ill for that.
I do wonder if such a crime happened now how long would the prison sentence be would it be much more than the time he has served in the two sessions he has had in jail? Was justice better then? It seems criminals it far shorter sentences lately, Still that’s another debate that probably best not start again on here.
