I personally do not approve of torture to obtain any confession in a criminal case, And personally feel that almost anybody would admit to any crime to stop the torture. Which means any confession would not be worth a thing and certainly could not be relied upon.
We have had cases in the past where people have been forced to confess then the case goes to court and is thrown out when the truth of how confession was gained is found out, Or the flip side the wrong person goes to jail for the crime leaving the real criminal out on the streets to reoffend.
There must be a better way to gain confessions, Maybe through a mixture of interview technques like psycho analising and possibly lie detectors(not seen as realible in the uk) along with normal questioning, I also would think in 2009 where we can do amazing things with DNA to prove somebody was involved that we should be able to get the right person more often.
I think the sad thing is after all the money spent bring the case to court and then putting the person in prison they can then be let out before the end of the official time set by the judge.
A sentence should be the exact time you spend in jail not 2/3rds of the time or something, And time off for good behaviour is stupid. They are criminals not school kids.
I would advocate chemical castration for sex criminals and peadophiles with the longest possible sentence served before any release.
Murders should spend life in jail unless there was curcumstances as to why they killed.
All prisoners would be required to pay society back somehow for the crime they committed, I would say life prisoners could be used for medical testing and alike as a way to pay back, prisoners serving less time could be used for more communtity projects anything that means they give something back to the society they offended against.
At the moment it feels like the criminal has more rights than the victim and those effected by the crime. That’s something that surely needs to change, Prison can not be a soft option anymore, It needs to be about punishment and rehabilitation and about making our justice system something people fear being involved in so acts as a deterrent to any possible offender. For me its non of these at the moment.
OK I wandered there a bit but basically I can not see any valid reason for torture in any case.
Windsor, Richmond, Camden Town, And canary wharf from Greenwich.
The Windsor ones were taken during January when the light was a bit of a challenge.

It seems this thread got totally out of hand after a minority made claims with no substance over a incident they did not witness.
As I see it the facts are a Aircraft had a collision with a object that should not have been there, And the pilot then managed to land the aircraft without further damage to the aircraft or harm to himself. Anything else is speculation and assumption as none of us were in the cockpit at that time so none of us can say what the pilot did or did not see, As until the accident is investigated that is as far as it can go. Luckily because the number one witness(the pilot) is still alive the investigation will be able to know everything that occured in that cockpit.
Personally its sad that people want to sully a well respected, Skilled and safe pilot and for that reason I do not mention his name in my posting nor make any assumptions, I only wish others could do the same.
On a lighter note its good to see both pilot and Aircraft live to see another day.

Some photo’s I took at Biggin Hill in 2008 of one of Mikael Carlson’s Bleriot XI/Thulin A’s.
I apologise for the quality of them, But I hope they are in the spirit of what people want.
Its both sick and pathetic, But it also sums up so much comedy these days, Comedy has always been about moving boundaries etc, Trouble is nowadays most of the boundaries are either no no’s because of race, sex etc or they all been done anyway, So “comedians” are looking elsewhere. So to even be noticed they need to go out and shock.
The trouble is I don’t think shocking people works on a funny level and in this day and age you need to go a long way to shock people, This goes that long way but borders on pathetic rather than shocking.

As much as I would love to see a Lightning back in the skies above the UK, I think Its more realistic to be looking for a holiday in South Africa and Mike Beacheyhead’s lovely collection. That is what I am trying to convince the wife into anyway.
Even if the economy was not so messed up I would very much doubt such a project could be sustained in the UK, And with the economy the way it is I feel it would be better to concentrate on what we currently have support them and the airshow scene.
I do wonder if he sold any, If he did then I need go through my collection as I have plenty of messed up shots sitting around doing nothing that could make me rich:D.
As to the debate on digital photography being easier, I really don’t think it is, But its easier with some effort using programmes such as photoshop to make a average photo which you did not quite get right better. Also because you can take a greater volume of photos with digital and the delete button option its more likely you will get a result you like. But in general the actual taking of a photo is still the same skill.

Cheers guys. The lovely John Romain duxfordhawk.:)
Fantastic, I did not know he has a twin rating too, Thanks for the information.
I personally would not purchase these particular photos, But have seen similar photos for sale in markets before and framed ones were around £20 if my memory serves me well, Not sure if they were selling but they were on offer.
No offence intended to the photographer but I would not tend to buy photos that are either of similar or worse quality than my own(which with me is very hit and miss, I am pretty good at missing that’s part of the fun),Unless they were of aircraft or building etc that there was no way I could photo personally, Otherwise the fun of photo’s is in the taking of them whether they come out good or not.
