B*gger, This Airframe seems to have no luck.

rats, i was thinking, martin brundle, damon hill, or even mark blundell.

There had been rumours way back that it was Damon Hill, I just assumed its a shared job with a few drivers covering the role.

Despite the fact i really like Lysander’s i will not be too worried if there is not one flying at Legends, After all Legends is the sum of all the Aircraft gathered not just one type.

Im seriously thinking of going Legends on Saturday and RIAT on the Sunday, But if i have to choose Legends would win everytime.

I saw a film the other night called ‘The Land Girls’ and was suprised to see a sequence with a Daimler Benz engined BF109, does anyone know which one it was, perhaps Black 6? A lovely sounding aeroplane anyway!

I noticed at the end of this film it showed Paul Bonham has messerscmitt pilot and Mark Hanna as Spitfire pilot, I assumed they mean Paul Bonhomme, It was black 6 in temporary paint job..

It was definitely TE566, but I believe it was John Romain flying it and not Charlie.

Thanks Glenn, I had always believed it was Mark Hanna and remember seeing on the Old Flying Machine company a credit involving “Goodnight Mister Tom”, I am thinking i put 2 and 2 together and got 5.

I always believed it was MH434 with Mark Hanna at the controls.

Its calming down a fair bit here in South London now, At this time(0915) it just breezy, Which a huge change from half hour ago when it was very stormy.

Southend is pretty good and Eastbourne has a flightline just set off the end of the pier so for me its a good one to attend.

I must admit it was something i never got the chance to do as a child as i was a round 7miles from the nearest station and as i child of the 80s i tend to think the “Romance” had already gone from the Railway by that time, Although as a child it was exciting to get a train to Brighton or Portmouth for a ferry to the Isle of Wight.
I now work for the railway and from time to time we get to see a “Real” train in the form of something puffing steam and burning coke, Which always attracts a crowd.

Maybe the kids of today would benefit from a bit of train spotting instead of computer games etc

My wife has bought me a Fuji s8000 for a early birthday present, And we have decided to save £100 a month towards my DSLR project, So i hope to be able to get something that will last me some years.

I’m also daunted by the lens issues with DSLRs – if you buy a Canon, and want a good lens with anti shake you will pay a lot for a suitable one, as the cameras don’t have it in the body.

Cameras with anti-shake built into the body make for cheaper lenses, but by all accounts aren’t quite as good as the Canon system.

I feel i am walking into a big dark world when it comes to DSLR and i really do not have a lot of cash to throw at it, I am going to watch the market for a bit but still want to go DSLR by Airshow season, But obvoiusly that will mean the right lenses too.

Thanks everyone that has given information so far, I still feel undecided on what to do, Partly as i do not have the money to invest in a good quality DSLR yet and would rather avoid the credit option the way the economy is lately.
I took 10,000+ photo’s will my current Fuji s5600 and i do not shy away from using its manual settings so would hope that i could adapt to a DSLR quickly.
I think what i may do its watch how the market goes and see what deals i can get. I am still thinking by Airshow season time.
