The idea of a memorial has been one that i have often thought about, But i can fully understand why current display pilots would not want one, And as was pointed out to me in the past such a memorial could end up being used against vintage display flying especially if it listed lost pilots/Crew.
The UK airshow industry is one where safety comes first and accidents are thankfully rare, The last fatal accident before saturday was the Firefly in 2003i believe thats 4 years, That is a pretty good safety record in my view, But sadly accidents can and do happen at times.

Sadly the Hurricane accident that claimed Brian Brown was the 5th i fatal accident i have witnessed and from this i admire the pilots who fly these aircraft more and more. Maybe the best tribute for all the lost display pilots is in the very thing they loved, a Warbird or vintage jet in the natural element the sky.

A awful awful day, I do not think there are any words that haven’t already been said.
Like many on here i was too at Shoreham and i witnessed the accident but in my mind i do not believe it.

Its fair to say that there is a lot of this case that does not add up or make sense, In part this is probably because the police in portugal deal with crimes differently than we do in the UK and do not reveal much to the press, In this case it has fed rumour and half leaked information leaving us with only part of the story and some of the facts.
If i am to be honest i have not been completely convinced with the parents version of events, And like everybody i have a theory of what may have happened, But everybody is innocent until proven guilty and its not for us to judge that.

In my opinion, it is always right and proper to mourn the passing of any great artist.

Their passing diminishes Humanity and thus, by extension, diminishes all of us.

I totally agree, Yes i never knew the man personally nor met him, But he was a icon for opera and a true talent, The fact is he will never be fogotten. He was a amazing character and a legend in his own right.
Lets be honest we are in a age where celebrity and talent are not connected anymore and nobodies become heroes just by appearing in crappy TV shows, Why should we not praise and mourn REAL talent?.

Yes a sad day indeed, I am not a fan of opera but he somehow was able to bring opera to the masses and made people including myself listen and enjoy.
You had one of the best voices you could imagine and was if the words are right a “larger than life character” that made him all the more special.
His death is a sad loss to music and the world in general but his voice will live on for many many years.

I really love the BBMF Spit and Hurricane pair one and have to say the 747 looks just amazing at cliff top or should i say below cliff top height.

If i had the chance i would love to get my hands on a Biggin Hill 1982 programme, My one is sadly ruined, It was my first show.
