I do not want my two girls on drugs, I do not want them selling their bodies. I do not want them raped, mugged, assaulted, robbed…..and I don’t want them being led to believe that rich junkie scum who happen to be ‘celebrities’ (Docherty, Moss for example) should be lauded as an example to emulate. I don’t want them being fooled into thinking they should dress like sluts at the age of 8.
So, sorry to ruin this hand-wringing thread, but I have no intention of losing any sleep over the deaths of a handful of junkies who were killing themselves anyway.

I agree totally what you say about your daughters and believe all parents would feel the same including those whose kids sadly fell by the wayside and ended up on drugs etc, I don’t think many people ever want to be a prostitute they end up in such a role due to other curcumstances including drugs, It must also be pointed out that its supply and demand if no men were going out paying for sex there would be no prostitutes.
Its worth remembering that these were human beings killed here no matter what they did, And his next victim if he is not caught may not be a prostitute but somebodies wife or girlfriend.

To be honest i do not think execution really is the answer, Its seems not to have solved a lot in the states of the USA that use it, And the idea of “A for a Eye” a “Life for a life” does not really sit well with me as killing a killer makes society as bad as the criminal and who is going to execute the executioner?
What i want to see in this country is criminals repay the society and life really mean life not something like 10 years after good behavour, At the moment the punishment does not fit the crime,controversial idea would maybe to use murderers for drugs testing as their way to repay society, At the moment a criminal costs the country anything that makes them repay society would be a advantage.

I must admit its a bit annoying when hear words in the news or people talking saying they just prostitutes, They were somebodies daughter’s, somebodies sister’s and i feel for their families.
What scares me the most is the pace this “animal” has commited such crimes 5 people killed in just 2weeks it seems, Lets pray that there is enough DNA to trace and catch the culprit and that no more families need suffer.

duxfordhawkI bought a 1G XD card yesterday for £40 which was cheapest i saw, May get a second one by next year but as yet one is enough for me to practice with.
I am thinking of a trip to Heathrow or something so i can practice, Or maybe a hour or so outside Biggin Hll, I feel it would be nice to put in a bit of practice before next year.
duxfordhawkSome superb photo’s there Rob i am very impressed, I have had a quick play with the camera yesterday but because only have the disc it came with i have done very little, I am off to buy a 1G card today and if the weather stays fine i will go out and about for a bit with it. Its a lot of camera for the money i have to say and plenty of different functions to play with.
Ironically i had a 1.5 Conversion lense for my S602 but i sold it this summer as was’nt planning to buy a similar camera, Maybe next year i will buy a 1.7x,

duxfordhawkTime does fly and Ray’s contributions to Goodwood,the Duxford shows,and Biggin have been missed ,and will be missed while these shows continue.
However I’m sure I’m like many that have many DVD’s/video’s that show Ray at his best, enjoying himself and pleasing thousands of spectators.
I doubt there is a week that goes by when I don’t watch something that has some contribution from the Master.One of my favourites is The 1982 Biggin Hill air fair,commentated by the late Raymond Baxter.Ray performs in MH434 and in the P-2 G-BJAX,…..the low levels that Ray gets down to have to be seen to believed.
Indeed at one point the camera follows MH434 behind the trees,all that can be seen is the starboard wingtip above the trees!!! ……..truly amazing .R.I.P Ray

My first Airshow was Biggin Hill 1982 when i was 8 i had a liking for Spitfire’s since making a Matchbox model with my uncle, When i saw Ray fly i was spellbound, and it was the same every year i went to Biggin Hill afterwards, I always made a point of going there on a Friday and some thursdays too before the show because Ray would normally take MH434 up, I remember one year being in the Airport on the friday with a couple of friends there was very few people there and Ray took off and put on a stunning display it was pure magic and felt very personal.
In 2005 when i last saw him at Biggin Hill i felt every bit the same as i did in 1982 everytime was amazing.
duxfordhawkDoes not seem a year already, The 2006 Season was not the same without him, I still think of the last time i saw him at Biggin Hill in 2005 i stood alone and watched the master at work, I think there was many a tear in peoples eyes that day, In June the tears were there again this time for Ray and for Nigel Lamb’s superb tribute.
