I’m also planning to go to East Fortune, it’s now showing as 55 minutes after take off instead of 75 and only 3 minutes between East Fortune & the previous point at Alnwick ….. 52 mins after take off ! have they fitted afterburners ?

Bill, I would be looking for the Barracuda ditched in the Firth of Forth by an ATA girl, I think the incident was recalled in the film Spitfire Women a couple of years ago …….. she only got out once the aircraft had settled on the seabed & was picked up by a fishing boat ……. I think she is still with us & could provide position details.
I have used sidescan sonar a lot in the Forth & there are plenty of areas where aircraft could survive intact ……. the Avenger off Aberdour being a good example.
There were quite a few Barracudas lost in the Forth operating out of Crail,

Progress maybe, but still no real explanation about why Andy was banned in 2007 …… if it was as suggested by some that he was banned for his comments on the attempts to recover a Battle Of Britain pilot from his crash site then I still feel very concerned about that !

That brave pilot & many others died so we can enjoy freedom of speech in this country!

Watering Down

Bruce, I can see the reasoning in merging all the threads into one to tidy things up a bit ……. but it’s actually watered down the issue, when there are several threads running about some routine aviation subject on the forum it makes sense to merge them, but when there have been several threads started about the Andy Saunders issue it is because people feel so angry about it all & to merge them into one just comes over as being dismissive about our concerns !

Well said Mark …… we’ve all waited far too long now … on the advice of the Mods, most of them having had the best of intentions in their handling of this sorry saga ! ….. it’s now clear that Key has no more respect for the Mods than it has for the rest of us …. Peter, you still insist on slapping us down for speculating on this forum …… why can’t you see that is exactly what will happen if Key keep hiding in the background giving it LA LA LA LA ……. me thinks some of the Mods need to stop waving the big stick at the people who make up this forum & have bl@@dy good reason to be angry with the handling of this saga and direct their frustrations at Key instead ! …… we are not the bad guy’s here, please wake up & smell what Key are shovelling !
