    The whole project looks awesome, pay no attention to the ‘fire prevention officers’ Garden shed engineering is what makes this country great 😎

    Well said that man. They are after all adults, using their money, their enthusiasm, in their yard, and its their risk. Their only apparent mistake was making it public for others to see and criticise! 😉

    Where you end up parking largely depends on which way down the A505 you are travelling when you reach Duxford.

    Most years, coming from the East (M11 side) we have ended up parked North of the airfield on the domestic site, crossing over to the show on a temporary footbridge.

    Moggy

    Also, unless its changed, if your coming up the M11 from London way you will be directed to park on the airfields eastern end (air and space – TFC hanger side), with those coming from Royston A505 being parked on the airfield western end (land warfare).. until those carparks are full.!

    Received the following email from Tim. Please keep him in your thoughts, as he is one of us, and appreciates all the prayers and support that has been posted in this thread;

    “Just a quick email to say after a month in hospital I finally got home the day before yesterday, I was so sick of being in there, the complications I had mainly pneumonia and pulmonary embolisms have been a real setback, when they struck 2 Saturdays ago i was so ill I thought I was dying, particularly when they suggested moving me into intensive care, but at that stage I felt so rough I didnt care.

    Anyway a million percent better than then but its going to take longer to recover fully”.

    Hard just to pick one out, for me apart from those already mentioned I’d say John Larcombe in the Blenheim and John Watts in Plane Sailing’s Tigercat. Two great pilots that are often overshadowed by others.

    Did John Watts fly the Tigercat. I only remember Paul Warren-Wilson flying it!?.
    But John was much admired by me in Lindsay Waltons Corsair, and he actually came over and spoke to little ole teenager ME at Mildenhall.. all because i was carrying an F4U-7 Corsair sticker 🙂

    Norfolk & Suffolk Aviation Museum James. An absolutely amazing place with displays and collections that just go on and on. I went back on Monday for the first time in twelve years and took some crappy pics with a point and shoot, but they dont do justice to the place. Free entry (but of course i left a donation), and to cap it all i got a large mug of coffee, scone with jam and butter, and a large slice of homemade sponge cake… all for £2.50 :cool:.

    Nice photos Tim. Have you ever come across anything to do with the Henley, in the way of parts etc?

    Great set of photos. All the jets of the historic flight are simply superb, but the Viggen steals it for me!

    A dive-bomber that saw service as a target tug… not as a dive-bomber! 🙂

    I’ve read that the flight crew reported engine trouble to the tower before going down.
