    interesting dilemma isn’t it

do we want them to spend the money on the Do17 – or would we prefer for them to use what money they have to fund say

    – completion of the Hampden restoration
    – restoration of the Brigand fuselage and fund a search in Malaysia for some tail/wing/nacelle/undercarriage material
    -restoration of the stored Ventura
    -restoration of the LVG CVI
    -restoration of the Farman
    -support for the Whitley project
-support for the Stirling Project and confirm or disprove the Russian Stirling
-support for the DeH Hornet project
-support the Assault Glider Project (a Hamilcar to complete the set…..)
-collect any available Wildebeast/Vincent material for a rebuild
-research and fund the build of some wings for the Wallace
-fund the reproduction of a Siskin using the available wing sections
-(insert your own pet project here)

all of these would be pretty unique projects as well

Jeepman i think you raise a very valid point. There are some very deserving and, aguably more important projects on that list in my view!

    Absolutely stunning, thanks for these.

Really looking forward to seeing this on the airshow circuit, and hopefully at Dx sometime! 🙂

There are others on here better informed than me on this subject but i think the Kermit Weeks Mossie has not flown for several years. Best bet at the moment for a flyer is in New Zealand.

I could be wrong but as i recall i dont think its anything different, as in the mid to late seventies it was still an arable field surrounded by the hard runway and peri-track.
I have photos somewhere of warbirds taxiing past the front of the tower with a cornfield behind.

If it had been ten years later the outcome could of been so different. For if the then ‘Superhangar’ was still going to materialise it would most probably have been on the very spot where the M11 is now!

But that could probably be said for many outcomes in the world of historic aviation.

I’m sure there are a few operators of historic airworthy aircraft that would love a spares holding the size of that :). Nice update Rich .

No it wasn’t there before the M11 was built. Its the replacement taxi-way to runway 24. The original travelled through the area where the ARCO hangars are situated but was subsequently lost together with a section of runway on the eastern side of the motorway!
