Collis and Good Vibs.. my comment was tongue in cheek!
But as they say no harm in dreaming.
Oh my goodness.. what a fire breathing monster that is! Thanks for posting.
Yes… an F-82 Twin .
David, sounds to me like Pagey is talking about Meteors in Korea… not ‘Winston’!
Any chance you are there on Friday?
Well…..I’ll be there. Not sure about any Wyvern parts, though. But I may bring the photos…..;)
😀 Threads been resurrected Andy, so feel free to post them up… i know there are a few others eager to see them. 🙂
I would say four or five years ago. I have a feeling that MH left Janie there and flew out in a light aircraft with someone else?!
Very nice aeronut. I’m intrigued by the bungalows history and subsequent survival. As its on the airfield is it preserved as is, undergoing preservation or facing an uncertain future?
Thats odd, i’m sure i saw ‘Janie’ with Maurice at the controls fly into Duxford on a pre legends friday a few years ago. In fact it was a chilly, dull day with virtually no activity.. which makes it stick in the memory even more!
Thanks for the correction zhr.
So it’s everyone round Wyvernfan’s pad then; get the BBQ on then!
😀 Thats more like it.. i do like a sense of humour. And should anyone come a calling bearing gifts in the form of Wyvern parts.. i can offer in exchange a good cup of tea and the best seat in the house. 🙂
Indeed it does Moggy, therefore it might be worth pulling any photos of forumites who openly admit, or who are obviously standing in the field at the end of the runway taking pics.
The safest place to watch an airshow is on your TV from the comfort of an armchair in your living room.
Errr.. WRONG. Nothing to stop one of the vintage aircraft that fly right over my house before turning finals crashing into my garden or property on the edge of Duxford village.
But as i have just watched four Spitfires, a Buchon, two Mustangs and a B17 land.. not to mention the two Apaches that just flew through and the F86 that just took off… i’ll try not to think about it.
Mark does she have folding wings.?… and if so are they powered?
Any info on what was recovered?
