Well when i was younger the only books around to read were mostly my dads, ‘weapons of war’ series, more like booklets, i think they were called. They had great illustrations and photos and so that got me hooked. Also watching ‘Battle of Britain’ as well, i love it when the Heinkel 111 crashes into the sea and the battle of britain music starts up with the Spitfires flying about, magic! Also watching Memphis Belle from the late 1980’s, brilliant film. I also visited Duxford, in fact its probably my earliest memory.
I also plan to join the RAF in a year or two, but thats mostly because of films like BoB

Brilliant pics, boy am i jealous of you! Come to think of it, the only time i’ve ever seen a Hurricane flying was it was at great height, one of the BBMF ones, i’d love to see one close in flight

Nah not do a remake of the classic, that will never be beaten. I was thinking along the lines of a film featuring the battle of britain, i.e. one following a fighter pilots life. Although my choice would be a ‘what if?’ film of Germany invading England in 1940, would be very interesting, i reckon we’d win 😀

Yep it would appear that G-MKIV will be the IWM Bolly whereas G-PIV will fly again, although with Mk I or Mk IV nose awaits to be seen

Thought there was another Hurricane at Duxford, recently returned from the Merlins over Malta, or is that the one included? If so, what about the four 20mm cannon one at Duxford?

Wow fantastic, didn’t know they had one. What markings are they planning to give her?

Well, it’s a bit personal but chances are by the time i meet any of you you’ll have forgotten allll about this 😀 Anyway, it was about three months after my parents decided they wanted to divorce, i was up late at night watching tv and although i’d been pushing it to the back of my mind all this time it just came back up and it just overpowered me, i mean i had cried about it before but it suddenly dawned on me how different my life will be, seventeen years of what i thought was a solid marriage and suddenly i get back from college to hear about it, i’m still suffering now which gets me depressed quite a lot but i’ve got great mates that cheer me up and i just try to keep busy and keep in a positive mood.

Jet pigs aren’t that bad looking, they do grow on you! The Hunter single seater is a fine piece of flying machine as well

I reckon you could make a Battle of Britain film pretty well, theres enough Hurricanes out there and Spitfires you could quickly convert to look like mk I’s or II’s like in battle of britain, the cgi would be amazing.

As far as i know it was an actual Blenheim, thats at least whatever i saw it referred to as. Then again the Bolingbroke flying a while back was referred to as a Blenheim when it wasn’t. I sure hope it’s restored back to Mk IV condition before long, seeing it in the grey and green camo would be nice, looked very cool
